Been saying it all week. Hype train DERAILLLLLLLLLED. Absolute garbage, she was worse than I thought she'd be. Figured the striking would improve at least a little since the Santos fight but it's clear this little girl's ego didn't allow her to get any help. So gratifying after how big her ego got.
Blachfield is simply too small to tackle the physicality of Fiorot. If Fiorot was some lowly ranked, less skilled fighter, no problem... her size wouldn't have been much an issue (outside of a "lucky" kick or punch). But when you're talking about another elite but one much bigger, taller, and stronger than you... that's a problem, that's Erin's problem. Unless Erin's able or willing to put on 5-8 EXTRA pounds of solid muscles, to TONE her body to looking like Bruce Lee's early 1970s body choreography ---- if Lee could do it in the late 60s to early 70s, for movie shots, elite MMA athletes SHOULD be able to do it, too, in 2024 ---- she doesn't have the physicality to deal with the bigger, stronger, and taller women at 125... or is that 135?

So happy for Manon Fiorot. Been a fan since learning about her background and no doubt she has all the qualities to become a champ. Striking, grappling, cardio, fight IQ. BRING IT ON!!!
She only did one mistake during the fight (at the first round when she initiated the grappling and got an attempt of guillotine). She is very good!! Hope she got her title shot as soon as possible.

i still don't like Fiorot game plans. She basically dosn't do nothing, she only is bigger and longer and take distance doing counter strikes. She also is too old at this point, 34 years old means she will have a chance in a year from now. Against a champ you won't win for a decision unless you are very dominant. Grasso striking and footwork is something different.

Couple takeaways from this fight. 1. Erin's gottttt to clean up that striking. It was like night and day with her and manon in there. 2. Erins gotta work on those takedowns as well cause if shes stuck standing on the feet with a quality striker shes gonna get smoked. 3.ofc her corner/coaches know her mindset and what to say to her to get the best out of her but mannnnnnn in between rounds theyre saying stuff like "uhhh the fights close the fights close, nice work" etc. But yoooo!! How about we tell her not to try trading with her and focus on ways to work in some subs! But blanchfield's got heart, great conditioning too and hopefully learns from this loss. Can't say much about manon other then she looked phenomenal and won every round in my humble opinion. Only thing i wish she did was really go for that kill shot and put erin out

Shevshenko vs Grasso is scheduled for mid september and UFC paris for the last week end of september. Doesn't make sense. If Fiorot wants a title shot for UFC Paris, she can go for the bantamweight title, since the division is empty ( they even gave a titleshot to Bueno Silva who lost to Fiorot earlier).

Her corner did not prepare Blanchfield with the right fight strategy, before or during the fight. Blanchfield ran her head into the jab all night. Did not kick Fiorot’s lead leg. Trying to manhandle a much stronger Fiorot. Telling her Fiorot was getting tired in the 2nd round, ridiculous. Shevchenko and Grasso are at a different level although Fiorot is a rock em sock em robot. Both were in shape though I’ll give them that.

Namajunas last fight although she won was worrisome as her skills are not what they were. That perpetual fiance’ is not a trainer she needs to go back to Trevor Wittman. When i saw her vs Talía santos i knew SHE wasnt good
the ufc really needs to stop making these women's main events. Blanchfield has virtually zero head movement, and Fiorot, who is supposedly this great striker, backs up in a straight line with eyes closed and chin high when someone punches at her. It's literally what people do in their first sparring session. She wouldn't even be considered a mediocre striker in the men's divisions. Keep in mind--this was a fight between the NUMBER 2 and NUMBER 3 fighters in the division
