However, in Rio de Janeiro, you have to understand that it’s a very dangerous place to go home after 2 am. Additionally, there’s still a big concert happening in Rio de Janeiro, which would lead to complete chaos in traffic. The UFC should consider hosting events in a different city in Brazil, rather than in Rio de Janeiro.

I don’t understand how when Martinez has Aldo against the cage they IMMEDIATELY break it up. But Pantoja just gets to have 5 minutes of “control time” where he did ZERO GROUND AND POUND AND ATTEMPTED BASICALLY NO SUBMISSIONS. Then Pantoja struts around like he’s the king of the devision after hugging for his life the entire 5th round. Oh and he also kicked erceg in the balls at least 4 time but Godard didn’t do jack. • Though it was a close fight and surprisingly good performance by Erceg. I just don’t get how people are saying it was a robbery, I literally watched it again and yes it was a very close one but anyone with common sense would agree that Pantoja won. Just having more significant strikes doesn’t mean someone won. Pantoja had like 9 or 10 takedowns in the fight, over 5-6 minutes of ground control. And yeah he wasn’t as impressive in the stand up and got cut twice as well but even before the decision, it was clear that it would be a unanimous decision for Pantoja, just look at both fighter’s body language after the fight, they both knew who won. Props to Erceg though.

It still was based mostly on the grappling tho, even with some good hits the challenger had the upper hand on the significant strikes landed I think. Even fight, I don't hate the decision at all, but this really could have gone to erceg as well.. should at least bump him up some spots in the rankings and with a couple more wins a new title shot on the horizon.
