I was 20 years old when the first season came out and I can remember sitting with my roommates and a bunch of other people watching that Bonner v. Griffin match. It was like a Rocky fight in real life, everyone in the room was amazed, it got everyone up like I'd never seen before from a sport. That fight and that season turned us all into true fans of MMA, and I think perhaps a whole generation.

Forrest Griffin and Stephen Bonnar changed the combat sports landscape forever. The most important fight in MMA history. With no UFC there is no Strikeforce, Bellator, etc. The significance of those 15 minutes is monumental
Imagine if bonner or griffin went in there and one of them gets knocked out in 30 seconds... what happens to the ufc lol crazy to think about. Thank God it played out the way it did.
You gotta admire Dana for never giving up the business they wanted to build. As an enterprenour, my hat is down, well done, very well done.
He was using other peoples money so it’s not that hard To understand why he wanted to continue with the UFC. . He was trying to keep his gig as president and the nice pay checks. And it worked out nicely for him

The humility that Kimbo had and how humble he was is so admirable. Not once did he ever act like he knew everything there was in fighting just because he was a great boxer. He listened to everything everyone was telling him and picked it up like a sponge. Really? The man changed his name to hide his past as a top 10 HW boxer, and beat up unsuspecting men street fighting! That's the opposite of a good person. Ferguson is his real name.
Kimbo wasn’t a great boxer. Kimbo was a powerful man who could out-punch the rest of the dudes in his neighborhood. I wouldn’t call Kimbo a boxer. I’d call him a dog that knew how to fight with his hands. And he was humble because he knew this just as well as we all could see it, and it’s absolutely commendable due to the hype around him at the time. I mean Kimbo had so much hype it’s got people actually having the audacity to call him a great boxer. But at the end of the day, he was grounded, he understood the reality of the situation but took the opportunity to try and do a little better for himself and his family.
