  • Very satisfying watching a dagistani wrestler get handled so easily. Similar to Bjj, dagistani wrestling will enjoy the element of surprise for only so long before it becomes standard and all top tier fighters adapt. Bjj used to own MMA, due to surprise because of ignorance early on, this is the same thing happening with dagistani wrestling.

    @xombi213@xombi2132 жыл бұрын
    • Still to this day, this is the only dagistanian to get dominated like that. This fight was in 2021. What made Khabib so good, is that he was bigger than everyone else, he used to have some serious issues cutting weight and was even hospitalized. he never fought a grappler his own size. Their wrestling isn’t that great when they’re matched up with someone who can stand toe to toe with them. Khamzat walked through everyone except for Burns and Usman.

He is so explosive, yet so calm in positions. A true mastery of fighting. Just does the right things with his explosiveness and positions. Many of the champions do not possess such thing. He made couple of mistakes in this one, but he had a very tough opponent. Makes you wonder and appreciate how great fighters like Khabib and Jon Jones are. Two of the GOATs. Never making a mistake, and even when they do - they improvise. Tactics are the most important part of any competition. And a good, tactical competitor will become the champion. If Jailton adds that strong element to his game - he'll beat them all in style, for sure! And he is on the right path to do so!

  • I think more fighters have to be offensive with their grappling vs the Dagastani fighters. Many fighters get so defensive vs them and will allow them to dictate the grappling. Although Chimaev isn’t Dagastani, but I think Gilbert would dominate him in grappling.

    • 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Khamzat isn't dagastani, he's chechen with a swedish nationality and he would totally murder Burns, since he's shorter. Even Bisping said in this fight that Almeida's height allows him to get a better hold of his opponent, Burns is way shorter than Khamzat. There's so many variables that lead in Khamzat's advantage.

  • Most BJJ fighters heavily focus on, well, BJJ of course. But with Almeida, he doesn't just gave good wrestling, he has GREAT wrestling. His BJJ is obviously dangerous of course, but he's unique. He actually focuses more on his wrestling. He's more of a wrestler than a BJJ fighter. This guy is like Khamzat but way bigger and has more Jiu-Justu. Besides Curtis Blaydes, call me crazy, but Jailton Almeida might be the best Heavyweight wrestler and a future Heavyweight champion. Jailton Almeida destroys Shamill in the first round. The biggest threats to him are guys who are either great wrestlers, or have great TDD. Alexander Volkov, Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall are the most dangerous matchups for him. If Jailton runs through Tybura and completely dominates him with his wrestling, then I think he beats Volkov.
