    • It was so crazy, it was like he was somehow just immune to Izzy. Feels like the epitome of "styles make fights", normally Israel is able to use his feints to set people up, to throw off their rhythm and get them to leave an opening. But it was like Sean was completely immune to that! Probably because of his crazy defense, he didn't respond that much to Izzy's faints because he was very successful at blocking even Izzy's real attacks, so he was just able to keep walking forward and keep Izzy on the back foot the entire fight.

I imagine it would be hard to learn good tdd and leg kick checks in a short amount of time, especially with someone (a boxer) who is so set in their ways they’ve been doing it for so long. That way they’re set into is very easy to take down or leg kick.

      @ShoahBiz@ShoahBiz8 ай бұрын
    • @@ShoahBiz This is a very common misconception plus the guy said elite boxer with a few years of MMA training. Not just a boxer going in. I would imagine he's also talking about what they would do to Israel Adesanya who is a kickboxer that transitioned to MMA. Israel has serious flaws always trying to draw out a reaction so he can counter off the back foot. He doesn't pressure or shoot takedowns. Now back to a elite boxer with years of MMA training versus an MMA fighter. For one they have such good footwork that you can cut an angle to stop a takedown. It's not just straight up Chuck Liddell type sprawls. Anyway an elite boxer would have knocked Israel's head clean off his shoulders if he hit him as clean as Sean did. There's a video out there of Don Frye in a hotel lobby when he was in his early 40's and he got into it with a boxing trainer that was drastically smaller and mid 50's in age. It ended very quickly and very badly for Don Frye against a man that had been retired from boxing for 2 decades.
