  • As a diehard wonder boy fan I’m devastated. A little bit frustrating to see him not work on his grappling, enough to get back to the feet at least. All props and kudos to belal, he earned it fair and square, and knew his path to victory. If you can take an elevator, why take the stairs? Hopefully Stephen can elevate his takedown defense or sweeps or bjj.

    • Your Wondergirl preferred to complain about Gilbert Burns' strategy and tried to shame him for his win. If he had acknowledged his shortfalls like a man and accepted his loss in an honorable way, things could've gone differently. So good to see Belal using Burns' approach and taking it to another level. Wondergirl can go back to KZhead now.

  • I hated the fight but I understood the strategy. I really think the blame should fall on Wonderboy. He took this fight when he obviously knew the kind of tactics Belal would use in order to win the fight. He could have waited for a better match up but instead he took this fight. He could have fought Jorge after his back to back losses, I know Jorge was up for it at one point. It would have made sense with it being the NMF v BMF and would have been a better match up for WB. I don't see Steven ever fighting for the belt again but if there is a sliver of a chance, he desperately needs a new team because his daddy isn't helping him. It's heartbreaking but I think I speak for all of us when I say we all wanted WB to have that Rocky moment but I don't think that will ever happen.

    • I feel like Leon had already thrown his biggest shots of the night and Belal ate them and stayed in the fight. Oliveira gave out first rounds in both his title fights and still made amazing come backs. Same with Juliana Pena. So this means nothing. Belal showed chin and if I'm not mistaken, he was a late replacement. Leon is a jerk for not accepting a rematch after that incident. Guy has no professional courtesy whatsoever. Belal saved his come back fight for him, he poked his eye and requested a title shot 5 min later when UFC doctors were saying they don't know if his eye would be saved.

One thing I've noticed with wonderboy recently is that he really doesn't throw in volume or power. Typically fighters tend to lean on one of those but wonderboy stays in the middle which leads to fighters really not having an issue with taking him down since there isn't all that much of a threat when going for takedowns
