  • Jones isn't just responding to Cormier, it's to all the ppl that want to see him fail. When he was classy, he made a bad personal decision and ppl started hating him. So now he's responding with "fire". I think he's better than that, but this was a personal fight, with genuine dislike between the 2, and Jones has feelings too. Besides if DC would've would've won like most wanted, nobody would've felt sorry for Jones... It's a beast, when most of your audience wants you to fail..

  • Gotta love Cowboy, seriously..... he lives the words he speaks. Not many people can say that. As for Jones. Once again he looks at the game/style of his opponent and he takes it to them in their own style and he does it better than they do. He beat up on Texira, he out wrestled Cormier, he slept Machida, doesn't matter what someone brings, he shows them that skill at another level. Hate all you want, Ive loved John Jones since the first time I saw him fight and he is on the way to being one of the best of all time.

    • Pro Era True. But I get where Jones is coming from. If you don't like a guy and you kick his ass, it's fake to then act sympathetic towards him when you still honestly don't like him. DC may have changed his view of Jones, but he talked a lot of shit about Jones as a person and I guess Jones really took that shit personal. I'm glad the reporter forced Jones to admit what he said backstage though, 'cause he was being a little fake the first time he was asked about his respect for DC.

  • I never knew of DC before this fight and its hype but I've grown so much respect for him. Seems like a genuine man. Jones still is my favourite fighter, I wish the two could get along. They both have a lot more in common than they think and they're both fantastic fighter

  • That was embarrassing for Cormier. I mean, I said Jones would win, but I expected Cormier to put u a Gustafsson level fight and get some really good takedowns. However, I was completely wrong to say that cormier would rag doll Jones. He made such a large deal about how he is the "equal" to Jon Jones and that he would even "break" him. Dude got outclassed.

    • Maybe outclassed is a strong word, but I think we definitely learned that they are certainly not equal. Olympic wrestler got double legged 3 times in a row. Thats embarrassing no matter what way you look at it. And if you wanna say that its because Cormier was tired, go ahead and look at that great trip that Jones did in the first round. A take down is a take down. Cormier had some pretty good strikes the first couple of rounds, but then he just gassed himself. I am by no means a Jones fan. In fact, I wanted Cormier to win, but didnt think he would. However, I thought Cormier would put up a better fight considering he said he would try to "break Jon Jones". Atleast he threw him in the 5th round

    • Age 4-8 taekwondo. 12-18 boxing with 2 years of highschool wrestling. Currently training juijitsu and muaythai. So yes I have the right to tell you to go train. So what styles of mma did you learn ? Cause obviously mma is mixed but I like to train with certain styles directly and incorporate then later with other things I've learned. If you're taking a generalized mma class with no specific style then you're not learning every aspect and techniques of the style itself. So you're telling me that the media staff went to every fighter in the organization and asked each of them if they thought that Jon Jones could take cormier down specifically. I think not. Why would he not ? Taking down someone that is gassed isn't unpredictable is it ? Did you think cormier had better stamina than Jones ? And if we are talking about the defensive side then how about this. Cormier knew he could only get Jones down with a double leg. Cause no one(besides Gus) can take Jones down with a single leg attempt especially with size advantage. Jones stance and his arsenal of weapons make it very hard to take him down which is why cormier couldn't do it. Why do you think there were so little attempts made by cormier in the first couple rounds. And are you talking about his wrestling record or mma ? Cause dcs mma resume isn't the best if you ask me.

  • I feel for Daniel and I was rooting for him too. The guy has never been a actual champion. He was the Strikeforce Grand Prix Champion but not the actual Heavyweight Champion cause the belt was vacated. He is still one of the best in the division and this win just shows how good Jones is and not how bad Cormier is. Don't like Jones but with this, Jon Jones is the greatest fighter to ever walk inside the octagon.

Jones has great ability and talent but to be the greatest imo you have to be broken down and come back you have to know all areas of success and know that not even defeat can stop you. Jones doesn't know that the only thing he knows is success and when he should have been taught that lesson in the Alexander Gustavsson fight he was given the win. One of the greatest yes the greatest no but he is still young his story has not yet been told.

There is a new school of LHW clear them out next then I'll tip my hat. Last Jones does not have to lose a fight to be pushed to the limit but when he does he should be able to prove that he can come back no matter what.

    • The real question is, what's next for Jones? The two guys that pose interesting fights, Johnson and Gustafson are about to fight each other. The winner will probably get the next shot. Those two guys are about all that's left in lhw division for Jones to face. I'd like to see both of those fights but really that's all that's left. Does Jones go to heavyweight and if he does does he stand a chance? His biggest weakness is he lacks punching power. Will a move up help increase that? You need that one hitter quitter status at heavyweight IMO.

    • This is what I typed in another video. You might not name him the greatest of all time just yet but by the end of 2015 it will solidify it. It's just after last night it solidified it in my eyes and this is why. Yeah fights like this I have to rewatch when the hype wears down the next day cause I gave Cormier rounds 2 and 3 last night but watching it again I agree with the judges, Jones won 1,3,4,5 and Cormier rounds 2. Man I was really pulling for DC in this fight but although it wasn't the slugfest brawl people wanted a bad blood fight to be, I'm not a fan of Jon Jones but that was an amazing performance. It was how Jon Jones beat Daniel Cormier that amazed me and it actually spoke louder to me than a knockout in the first round. Jones outworked, out grit and outwrestled Olympian Daniel Cormier in a way I never thought Jones could do. The fact that Jones was able to take Cormier down 3 times but even bigger, how he was able to defend 8 of Daniels takedown attempts spoke volume. He beat Daniel Cormier at his strength like he did so many others and this fight doesn't discredit DC. He is one hell of a competitor and at the very top of the division and this win doesn't say DC sucks for people that are jumping off his bandwagon. This win just shows just how great Jones is and I don't even like the guy but I have to respect what he has done. Others might not say it just yet but I've said for weeks now and I will say it now. After this fight, Jon Jones is the greatest fighter to ever walk inside the octagon. He is only 27 years old and since 2011 has been through a murderers row of fighters starting with undefeated 12-0 NCAA division I all american Ryan Bader, than 5 former UFC champions, than the guy that was seconds away from defeating the GOAT Anderson Silva in a fight where if Chael survived just 30 more seconds he would have became the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion due to Jones injured toe, than a fighter that I honestly believe Jones overlooked severely but went through a war and showed he can overcome and win, than to defeat a fighter that was on a 20 fight win streak since 2006 who had it not been for his visa issues would of been the champion Jones would of thought instead of Shogun, and last the 2 time olympian Strikeforce Grand Prix champion. With everything I'm saying about Jones, I still don't like him although I found a new respect for him during the post fight conference, but regardless of how I feel about him, I have to believe he is the greatest fighter to ever walk in the cage.

  • I saw this fight live feed at a theater on the east coast. I became a "Jones" fan after watching highlights of his first title match years ago. Jon "The Bones" Jones is a terrific fighter; a True Champion; and is the Best example of what a warrior should be. Stay true to You Champ!

  • After all the hype, I'm glad it was a good fight; however this is the first time I felt myself starting to cry watching a UFC post-fight because of DC. I really felt for him and thought he was a great sportsman for being honest, showing respect and being complimentary of Jones skills, but I was disappointed in Jones attitude towards him at the end of the conference. On the other hand Jones comments are wise, philosophical, and confident, and it's frightening to realize his potential to get better. I am a fan of both fighters and do without doubt know the Jones is the best on the planet right now and will probably go down as the best of all time. People kill me saying that Gus beat Jones... obviously Jones haters because Gus fought him like no one else, but ran out of steam at the end and started to run and almost got knocked out. Anderson Silva is the greatest of all time because of the longevity of his run and the unique and entertaining way he dispatched opponents. John Jones is the greatest right now because of his record, heart, and level of opposition he's faced. Warning for opponents in 2015! John says he studies and can absorb or inherit the skills of his competition: SO RESISTANCE, IS FUTILE!

Coke is NOT ALLOWED !!!He didnt get strippd because the drug was found on Dec 4th and so its considered out of comp as the effects of coke only last a day or two, unlike steroids., and thus this not a bannable offense. Had they found steroid in him he would have been banned at that time, that is true. Had they found the coke in him on the drug test they do the day after the fight he would have been stripped and banned. This is how this works. Im just impressed that Jones can be so good while being a street drug abuser !Dec 4th would have meant he was in camp for the big fight, so he cant say it was offseason fun(but still considered out of comp by commission), he clearly was addicted. I think this also explains his massive personality shift. He has now gone rehab and promised to do better this year with training and drugs , i wish him the best. coincidentally im gonna give up coke(crack) too.If he can do it , i can too!

  • That was the best post fight press conference EVER in the UFC. Those were chilling responses spoken like a true warrior. I've never seen a champion be able to articulate his mentality about fighting so well. He beat him at his own boring game. Cormier would've been hurt bad if Jones fought him at distance. Then he cries and the press applauds? After all that loud mouthing? John's comments after he wept were priceless..."I don't feel sorry for him #This is Combat ".

  • I don't see what Jones did wrong at all honestly.. was it disrespectful? Yeah, I guess, but if you truly dislike a person why would you show respect towards him? What Jones did at the end of the fight to DC is not really surprising. Plus it's not like he did it after the bell rung. It was still during the fight, DC got caught slipping. It's his own fault. Was is hard to watch DC broken like he was? Yes, I felt bad for the guy, but Jon Jones is absolutely right. If it was the other way around DC would've been talking mad shit at Jones and rubbing it in probably the whole press conference.

  • Some bewildered kids, think that just because Jones was able to beat DC in a stunning fashion, that he will be able to beat Cain Valesquez, I would urge you to remove Jon's Semen off your eyes and start perceiving things differently. Cain Valesquez is a Cardio Monster, He is a better striker than Cormier. We saw how Cormier struggled with his conditioning in the last 2 rounds. He was exhausted and flustered. You won't have that kind of dilemma with Valesquez. He will put immense volume on Jones and will grind him near the cage. Jones is the best pound for pound fighter in the UFC, but lets not jump into conclusions. You can accredit Jones all you want, but don't lambaste and degrade Valesquez, becasue he is still the best fighter in UFC. The abundant strikes that he lands in every bout, in addition to his unprecedented conditioning and cardio, would make him the most menacing fighter on planet earth. Not to mention his sumptuous wrestling. Its tough to prepare for a guy like that. The same could be said about Jones. Jones is unpredictable with his unlimited set of skills and wiles in his arsenal. It would make up for the best fight in UFC'S history.

  • Through 3 rounds, before DC ran out of gas, he was actually neck and neck in punches landed with Jones. I'd even argue that DC hurt Jones more than he hurt DC. It's pretty amazing to see DC's face look rather untouched after the fight. It shows how good DC was in the standup, but Jones' body shots and DC running out of gas was bascially the fight.
