Izzy is a great striker against people smaller. He’s able to lean back while keeping his hips forward enough to generate power in his hooks . He dodges incoming shots but still manages to connect with power. This fight will be against a man with equal height and reach and the technique he’s been using lately won’t be as effective. I’m willing to bet Izzy does a few takedowns in this fight. Striking against Alex will keep Alex comfortable the whole fight so Izzy needs to make him work in areas he has never been.

Ever since Izzy flatlined Rob, nobody is willing to exchange with him that much. Nobody beats up Bobby like that. This is when the boring fights started. Guys are not willing to stand in range and eat his shots. Will Alex do that? I think he will, as the range advantage is gone for Izzy. I still think Izzy wins off pure MMA experience alone, but I can’t wait to see it. The personal stank on this fight is definitely making an already interesting matchup into a big defining moment for both guys.
