He just came out of cutting weight so yea no fighter is going to look good. He cut 20 pounds on short notice for the Usman fight he ain't new to this.. You wonder if he took it serious? The way Colby act's he doesn't take anything serious he believes his persona he has lived it so much. Jorge always comes in good shape I haven't seen him where he wasn't in good fighting shape. Colby is an athlete with great conditioning especially from wrestling that's his strength. His striking is ok remind's me of Chael Sonnen's striking. Throw's pestering shot's so he can shoot their styles are very similar. I don't see this fight ending that quick, they have talked a lot of shit but Jorge isn't going to fight stupid neither will Colby. I see Colby primarily trying to get this fight to the ground. Jorge will pick his shots and use distance, Masvidal is very crafty. People tend to count that out he can fight but given his experience he is very crafty. Alway's unpredictable hell he might shoot and take Colby down. Masvidal has a good submission game he just doesn't use it.

He may know something, but what I do know is if you go back and look at the Usman vs Colby fight 1 it was that body to the mid-section that was violating Colby. He didn't looked like he liked it. That is why Colby said all that sh$t. He is in his head causing him to gain weight and get off tilt. He will go into the fight angry and jilted. He will stiffen up and look for the knockout. Colby will capitalized on him by dragging him down and draining his energy. Its a smart mental game.

masvidal has always looked like that after a weight cut and alot of other fighters too, but they gain alot of the weight back and are back to normal within 24 hrs of their weigh in making the weight pretty much stupid and pointless
The longer the fight goes the more Colby will take over. Colby doesn’t really party like Masvidal and that discipline will pay off IMO.

Usman with that technique could hit much harder but takes years to develop that kind of punch.

Based on what exactly? Kamaru is a bigger, stronger wrestler who at the most could only hold masvidal against the cage. Also colby does not have the power to do what kamaru did in the rematch. When maia fought masvidal that was prime maia who was on a hot streak of taking people's back and choking them. He got masvidals back on numerous occasions but couldnt finish. Masvidal has excellent grappling defence and the conditioning to match colby plus the speed and power in his strikes. Colby seems to be the bigger guy with reach advantage but will he able to take advantage of that with the tools he possesses? Not so sure. To me it's a 50/50. I just don't get why everyone thinks colby will dominate masvidal. Maybe it's because in their second fights against kamaru colby looked better but mma maths does not work in mma

I just hope whatever Kamaru figured out about Jorge to time him for that shot they've worked on. One of the most damaging things that can happen to a fighter is for everyone to figure him out and he doesn't have the ability to adjust and add layers to keep it going. The very greats can do that.

Him keeping the bmf off the table is purely a security decision. He knows that he is the underdog in this fight so if he loses there’s nothing really he can leverage other than that bmf belt. He’s already failed to get the title twice, this and his fight with leon are really his only grudge matches so if he loses to colby AND he loses the bmf belt, that wouldnt be a smart risk.

Here's an example of his leverage. The UFC channel released the Colby interview after his weigh in about 4-5 hours ago and then Jorge's an hour later and Jorge's has almost double the views.

These interviews are important. You can really see the effects of the weight cut.. Everyone who looks at mma as a sport should think that we need the weigh ins at the day of the fight so people would fight at their natural weight!
I always thought they should do it on an average weight over a fortnight or something? Weight cutting seems absurd but then I’m not really too knowledgeable on it all, I just like watching the fights

I think Colby can handle this fight standing as well, you can tell his striking keeps improving, although I hate to say it cuz I'm rooting for Masvidal, but it won't be a close fight.
Colby will stand with him as long as he thinks he’s winning the exchanges, first sign of trouble he will shoot. Elbow? Shoot. Can’t close the distance? Shoot. Kick to the ribs? Shoot.
Think there are obvious levels; if you look at the people both have fought in the last 5 years and compare how they did with the exception of the knee to the face against Askren (real Conor vs Aldo moment) not sure how you can argue for Masvidal except through the "punchers chance" (or more acurately in mma strikers chance), which is usually not the safest factor to bet on when it comes to the highest level.

@@uiu510 I would not say he did not take them seriously, the first one with usman was in 6 days notice and he lasted the 25 min, usman says masvidal was great on getting up from his tackdowns in both fights and that may surprise Colby tomorrow… I would say in the second fight with usman he was fighting with emotions, hands down. Thinking usman has cero striking and that caught him off guard. If he stays focused and trained his ass of and has a a gameplan. I think he will defeat Colby. I say a Knockout on round 2 or 3, I am a huge masvidal fan and I hope he can pull this off! 🤝
Y’all gotta chill he literally drained rn bc it’s the day before the fight but after ceremonial weigh in he can eat a little bit and rest well to feel better that’s why fighters gain weight and look much much better overnight.
