You people don't seem to understand contracts are negotiable. Many fighters have great contracts because they don't just accept the first contract they get.
And you honestly believe these “slap” fighters have any leverage when negotiating contracts, stop it you’re being silly. Even established fighters have little to no negotiating power relative to other professional athletes in North American sports, especially when it comes to dealing with the monopoly that is the UFC, and that’s to say nothing in regards to the lack of proper legal protection and labor rights that come from being labeled a freelancer by the promotion. And somehow Ariel is the guy who is making money from exploiting fighters.

The potential for injury in MMA, since that's the example you chose, is probably far greater than this sport. CTE isn't the only danger, and not anymore guaranteed in one than the other.
