Mark Coleman became the first heavyweight champ back at UFC 12 in 1997 when he defeated Dan Severn in Dothan, Alabama. The two most recent champions, Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier meet for their trilogy fight at UFC 252.

  • Tim Sylvia's counter punch on Arlovski was amazing considering he was an inch away from losing the fight just seconds before. Frank went for a haymaker with everything and didn't block or dodge the counter. Crazy

  • For those who didn't know, when Frank locked up that arm bar 5:25 he broke Tim's arm, if you look closely you'll see it bend. This was the best call in history since at the time ref Herb Dean was the only one who saw the break.

  • It's debatable but I think very few ppl would debate that Randy Couture coming back in his 40s to beat Sylvia and become the oldest Champion in UFC history is probably the greatest comeback story in MMA. I mean who was expecting that? He wasn't supposed to win and not only did he but he dominated that fight and outclassed Sylvia all around. I don't remember any significant offense at all from Sylvia. I don't even remember any insignificant offense. I think Randy dodged and weaved around every punch he threw.

  • Shane Carwin sledgehammered Frank Mir's head for so long before the fight was finally stopped, that the editor had to cut it short for the purposes of this video lol. You can see the cut at 9:57. Mir got ground-and-pounded by the two largest pairs of fists in UFC history in Carwin and Lesnar. It's a miracle he is still coherent today.

It was great to watch but forget how very damaging it was to the fighters. You can get 1 fight and get your eye gouged out and you wont fight ever again. It was a few steps away from gladitator fights pretty much 😅 Glad the rules changed greatly to protect the fighters.

The original ufc cards were brutal as fuck the only rules were no eye gouges,groin stiles or biting. It’s still a relatively young sport and thankfully it’s moved away from the days when knees to the back of a downed opponents head were viewed as an ok way to win a fight but these changes come slowly

    • @@bernardkari3160 lesnar barely has an accurate striking. Most of his wins are via ground and pound after takedown but against stand up fighters like nganou he would be demolished if he cant take him down early. He got wrecked by Velasquez and a K1 kickboxing champ overeem at stand up game.

    • @@bernardkari3160 he never fought other contenders at their prime like bigfoot silva, werdum etc. Even if he wasn't sick there's no way he'd win against overeem let alone other cotenders such as bigfoot, ngannou, lewis, dos santos etc. Even DC would smoke him

    • @@bernardkari3160 but lesnar isnt an elite stand up fighter like nelson and bigfoot, he's a wrestler. Trading shots with cain and few clinches with overeem caught him. Imagine what ngannoi is gonna do him if he trade blows.
