HufftyPuffty this is MMA. Anything can happen. You can be the greatest in the world and then one man can come and take you out. Eddie was the champion and as usual, the power and reputation that Conor has was enough to drag Eddie to where Conor wanted him. You have to remember that this is a job like anything else out there and when you have an employee that pretty much controls the company you work for - you are obliged to respect him. Otherwise.. You lose your job. Everyone knows Conor is the big money earner and in a world of money and feeding your kids and making a living, I bet that can be very intimidating. Only one person so far hasn't fallen for the mind games and that was Nate and that's because Nate came into the UFC to fight. Conor came into the UFC to make money and make a name for himself. Two different styles of fighter. Conor has the balls to do what no-one else can do and when you are employed by a company that wouldn't let anyone else have so much freedom, just imagine having to see your fellow colleague control the whole thing in front of your face and there is nothing you can do about it... That right there is why Conor wins all his fights. Eddie is a tough opponent and would wipe the floor with every single one of these kids posting in the comments. He'd literally be serving a prison sentence for a whole list of murder charges. This is real fighting. Don't be aroused by the hype. Eddie is a real fighter. Conor has the mental edge over everyone and no fighter so far can get past that. Make no mistakes, the fight was won before he even fought Conor.

McGregor has worked a lot on it and has improved his stance, learned to be smarter and minimize risks. He's just super solid right now. Very difficult to hurt him after first fight against Diaz. Win or lose, the man takes lessons from every fight and keeps improving.

Even at that, Mendes did a great job but I just watched that fight again and I am not sure why people are/were constantly going on about his lack of a ground game. He got taken down and slipped or reversed his way out of a bunch of attempts from the top. Big deal if you get taken down, it is how you get out of it. Apart from Nate when he was gassed, he has done just fine on the ground and is only now even better at stuffing takedowns and not getting caught with his distancing so that he can be taken down. Kahbib is the next logical test to take. I think Conor beats him too though. Khabib's standup looks atrocious for the most part.

KillerKumstar he shot for the takedown a few times and got stuffed and then he had him on the fence for a minute or so, but when you get cracked by that left hand you just get into survival mode and for Eddie survival mode is just to stand and throw anything he got.

Even at that, Mendes did a great job but I just watched that fight again and I am not sure why people are/were constantly going on about his lack of a ground game. He got taken down and slipped or reversed his way out of a bunch of attempts from the top. Big deal if you get taken down, it is how you get out of it. Apart from Nate when he was gassed, he has done just fine on the ground and is only now even better at stuffing takedowns and not getting caught with his distancing so that he can be taken down. Kahbib is the next logical test to take. I think Conor beats him too though. Khabib's standup looks atrocious for the most part.

KillerKumstar he shot for the takedown a few times and got stuffed and then he had him on the fence for a minute or so, but when you get cracked by that left hand you just get into survival mode and for Eddie survival mode is just to stand and throw anything he got.
