people call Gilbert a 'lightweight' as an insult but that's literally a big compliment how he's the smallest guy in top 10 but he does so well, it gives him an speed and explosiveness advantage well because he doesn't have to cut so much, naturally he would be fighting at 165 but UFC doesn't have that.

If Charles and Gilbert had a BJJ match Gilbert would get it done, but Charles uses his jitsu much better in mma
Gilbert is the best jiu jitsu in ufc. He is more defensive than Charles. Charles will try to get submissions but also submitted himself. Gilbert was never submitted because he pays more attention to defense and control.
I believe charles has better jui jitsu than gilbert but gilbert is stronger obviously and has better overall grappling defence. Both very good in the clinch as well
Good analysis, they're both exceptional grapplers, I think the fact that usman didn't try and take him down says something, but usman also started to fall in love with his hands at that point
