Rumble putting the belt on DC has to be one of the coolest sportsmanship moments in sports history.
Rumble was a complicated guy. One, he was one of the finest strikers north of 170 we've ever seen. Two, he was a true sport with a humble approach to a demanding sport. Three, he would quit at the slightest sign of adversity in any fight. Four, he's been the subject of how many domestic abuse allegations at this point.
Dc said in an interview like 2 weeks ago that he really wanted it to be Dana to do it not rumble
@@ryetierpuff1262 he was kinda joking dude
Not at all 😂 DC woulda rather have the legendary Dana do it rather than some guy he just choked out.
@@hischam0698 I mean didn’t really seem that way, he was talking about seeing Dana put the belt on so many guys and you attribute winning the belt with having Dana put it on u and when rumble did it it took away from the moment

@@athulfgeirsson Glover has a stylistically good matchup against the guys he’s beating. Blachowicz wasn’t considered the better striker out of all the guys he fought, he wasn’t given a chance, by the majority of people. Since Dana had a personal problem with him he has been cut out of everything as much as possible.
Dan Henderson had a chance to become champ again at age 46 against The Count Michael Bisping at UFC 204
Yup, classic ufc, but still, "that guy is my hero".
I think the criterion makes sense. Culture didn't got his title at 44 after a win streak beating all the competition to get to the top. He got the title shot, without beating anybody, becouse of his name and won against a good matchup for him.

I don't know about y'all, but these 4 fights: Charles Oliveira v. Dustin Poirier Jan Blachowicz v. Glover Teixeira Deiveson Figueiredo v. Brandon Moreno Charles Oliveira v. Michael Chandler were my picks of the year. These 4 literally had me on the edge of my seat, cold sweats, nerve shaking, screaming along as they went for their submission finishes. The winners of these 4 fights were all underdogs, came from foreign humble places, grinded years in MMA and struggled early on in the match, just to watch them turn the tides around and the crowning moments of their victories almost had me in tears.
Idk man I'd prefer the dogfight from Chandler v. Gaethje instead of oliveira v. Poirier
shitty pick..
Glover 's was the most impressive
In my opinion, Michael's one was just out of mind. Nobody's ever thought that guy would become champion and that became even more "apparent" when Luke won the belt.
I have to agree. Glover's win was amazing but he beat Jan for the title (Jan getting the belt was considered a feel good story of an unlikely champion.) Bisping on the other hand beat a prime Luke Rockhold who seemed unstopped and was finishing everyone (Including Bisping who he beat with ease a year and half prior) Add to the fact that Bisping had three #1 contender fights in his career and lost every one of them, never getting a chance to fight for gold. Bisping got the opportunity to step in for an injured Weidman on 2 weeks notice to fight a man who already mopped the floor with him. Literally no one gave him a shot in the fight. Bisping who is known as a volume puncher and never had a single clean KO victory in his UFC career... KNOCKS ROCKHOLD THE FUCK OUT. One of the greatest moments in the sports history.

Luck Rockhold...shame...there's another timeline where Vitor wasn't allowed to use TRT and spinning kick his chin into the shadow realm...the guy has some of the best stand up in the division...and has some of the best wrestling/grappling too..but a strong breeze can make him do the chicken dance... I feel bad for him.
Look at all the times Luke has been KO’d…HEAVY shots clean to the jaw every time. I don’t think his chin is the problem; it’s his defense. Same with Cody Garbrandt.
Best standup? You sure about that? 😂 The problem was never his chin, but his non existing defence or head movement.
As said above, the problem has always been his defense. His fighting mentality is super wrong. He believes he's unbeatable therefore doesn't bother defending himself. Sad part is he'll never change.

Rockholds striking defense isn't good...but it's compounded by his broken chin.. Funnily enough...I think he can win the belt right now...if he goes into fights with 0 intention to stand with Opponents....like what mia does..he would beat 95% of middleweights....and he'd have a good shot to beat Izzy.
I don't know man, Jan looked so much slower the last fight compared to when he fought Reyes and Izzy. I was so surpised he even won Izzy in stand up but lost to Glover in stand up 😟
