Silva getting knocked out by Weidman doesn't really belong on here. That one is more making a really bad decision and paying for it. The rest are a result of technical prowess and failure. Extremely impressed with #11. Threatens with his hands, observing his opponent's defensive reactions. He progressively gets his hands higher, making the other have to keep his eyes up, distracted, looking out for a strike. Then he checks with his left foot. No reaction from the opponent, he's too focused on the hands. So he throws out the kick, completely unopposed, winning the fight. Flawless planning and execution.

As a long time boxing fan I find it pretty disturbing to watch unconscious fighters, laying on the ground, getting hit several more times. It's so dangerous and can really hurt you in the future. A heavy KO itself is dangerous enough, but pounding the guy while he's out cold?? As a boxing fan I can't befriend with that part of UFC / MMA. Huge respect to all UFC fighters, they really are brave men and shout out to the fans, it definitely is an exciting and versatile sport. It's just not my kind of fish but that's ok I guess :)
@marcusaureliusantoninusaug21619 жыл бұрын
Bobby R I basically agree and know what you mean. As i've said before in at least one of my posts about MMA,They really should give a knocked down fighter in MMA 10 seconds to get up just like with boxing and make the other guy go to a neutral corner and stay there until the knocked down fighter gets up(If he does). Instead,they allow the knocked down guy to get pounced on while he's dazed,and then 99% of the time,it ends a second or two later,same ole same ole way too much with MMA. Theyr'ed be alot more properly lengthed out battles if they made the rules more similiar to boxing in that regard. Instead you get all these knocked down once,pounced on,two seconds later its all over type fights. Same ole same ole way too much with MMA.
@RobsterRulzDude05189 жыл бұрын
Bobby R I've heard boxing is more dangerous for just that reason. A boxer could get knocked out and if he comes back to within 10sec he can remain fighting. With MMA you get knocked out its over.
@PVPwarcraftologist9 жыл бұрын
PVPwarcraftologist Well if you're knocked ou you normally don't come back within 10 seconds :) I know what you mean and you've got a point, especially in the 50s and 60s, even the 70s dazed fighters kept on fighting until they got annihilated, Fortunately times have changed and that doesn't happen these days, unless the ref is totally inept. I fully agree with Robert Decker Jr. though that the 10 second count is a much better solution than the MMA approach. I'm not the one to judge though. For me it's two different sports and both are great in their own regard. I just think that it's excessive in MMA from what I have seen. I have fought a couple of (very) amateur fights myself in boxing and I could not hit a guy that's falling down or laying on the ground. Guys got families and most fighters are good people, despite the often contradicting public oppinion :) But like I said, I'm by no means an MMA hater . It just disturbs me when people on the ground get hit.
@marcusaureliusantoninusaug21619 жыл бұрын
Bobby R oh ya i agree with you on hitting unconscious people. The Ref's need to be on their toes ready to stop the fight before that even happens.
@PVPwarcraftologist9 жыл бұрын
Bobby R The 10 count is way more dangerous. Boxers are allowed to rejoin the fight when they are clearly in trouble and take a huge beating after they are revived. A quick finish is much safer. Look at older boxers that took way too many shots after they were clearly hurt, they are all punch drunk now. You may get one or two extra punches in MMA but you could take dozens of extra punches in boxing.

About time for the 30 Greatest Knockouts.
I can't decide if I'm more amazed by the fights or by Beerus's ability to foresee them. It's like he's rewriting the laws of sports predictions.

I'm hooked on Beerus's predictions. It's like he's playing chess with the fighters' moves and outcomes.
Awaken Beerus, you've got me second-guessing every fight outcome now. Your predictions are on another level!
Bobby R I've heard boxing is more dangerous for just that reason. A boxer could get knocked out and if he comes back to within 10sec he can remain fighting. With MMA you get knocked out its over.
Bobby R oh ya i agree with you on hitting unconscious people. The Ref's need to be on their toes ready to stop the fight before that even happens.

1:02 - the referee Steve Mazzagatti just sleepwalking there. He should've stopped it way earlier.
AGEMO couldn't agree more, Steve Mazzagatti is fucktard and should be fired. That's not how you protect a fighter, he was out with the kick. Can't believe how long after that it took him to stop the fight...
