    • I watch him vs Eddie Alvarez 2 years ago and knew he was a top 5 guy at least since Eddie was a champ and has a win over Gaethje and Poirer regardless if it's a no contest Poirer was rocked and going to be finished anyways. So yeah it didn't guarantee he'd be a champ but in my eyes at least a top 5 guy and now he is.

    • Exactly. People so often let the limits of their experience dictate their views on anything or anyone outside of that experience. Especially overcompensating people with brittle egos, & there are plenty of those in prize fighting fandom. Most of the people who are impressed by his KO & his realness when speaking are probably the same people who were talking out their asses a couple weeks earlier about who he is as a fighter & what he had to say coming in. The one elite wrestler he faced was Tibua and he got all 15 takedowns stuffed and got taken down twice and was outlanded in significant strikes. In other words he really lost the fight, Khabib's untouchable when it comes to facing strikers but don't act like he can make easy work of Chandler, Covington and Usman when he's never beaten that level of wrestling talent in mma.
