Conor at 145 is still one of the most amazing runs ever in the UFC
FOOTBALL 🏈 IS THE GREATEST SPORT IN EXISTENCE!
@@staymadclown_ get a life
%100 i don't compare conor to the greats of Tyson ect but his 145 the world was captvised just as much
Agreed. I was watching an old press conference of him in his featherweight days and I realized that he knocked out almost half of the people he was sitting with.
He fought legit Midgets, Chad and Aldo are 135 lb fighters, 5"5. Chad was on TWO weeks notice and the "midget" was beating his ass till he has no gas left from lack of time to prepare. UFC knew what they were doing and stacked the deck in his favor. I don't blame them, but you can't compare that run to some of the other greats imo.
UFC 189 was one of the most bloodiest cards in the modern era, respect to Chad for stepping up on short notice, and respect to McGregor for beating him on one knee.

@@SonGokuuuuuuu what's really sad is you Khasuals projecting stuff and mentioning your lover Khabib everywhere with no apparent reason. @@Kpazz did you not see the fight. Conor got taken down easily and was getting battered until Mendez got tired. Also Mendez is not a giant 145er so he can make the weight in two weeks. About the steroids. You can’t easily accuse Conor of being juiced as well. Most fighters use them.
This Conor was like no other, same Conor, but he was so motivated, not gonna back down against no one. Can’t wait for ufc 264
He was also fighting at 145lbs. Which is where he thrived and never tasted defeat. It was just too much weight to cut long term
FOOTBALL 🏈 IS THE GREATEST SPORT IN EXISTENCE!
@Paul Yes, and was much quicker with better cardio
I don't even think motivation is the big problem anymore. That division he hit like truck. In fairness Chad fought on short noticed too. I feel the big thing with Conor now is mma moves to quick. You cant take years out boxing then come in really boxing heavy with the elites in the sport. Anyone can see Conor's stance against Dustin was ridiculous. I hope Conor wins because I'm Irish and honestly nothing beats a McGregor fight for excitement but I think Poirier has progressed so much the last few years and I think Conor has done the opposite. Look at how he fights now he can't beat Dustin. Of course maybe I'm wrong but I'd be very surprised if Conor wins. This video was a long time ago.
Some peoples bodies dont age as well as others in the fight game. Not only their bodies their brain. Conor is fit to this day but you can tell his energy isn't the same. Age and I'm assuming all that money played a role in his steady decline.

To be fair, Conor was set for life when he fought Alvarez. He just hasn’t been active
That logic doesn't apply to the greats though... Why? Because it's a free bag. If you're so good and you know it, you're going to keep getting that money and beating on people. You can never have enough money, especially when you're a rich man. Its always about more and more and nobody is going to pass up more money. Also, if you truly love the game or your profession, that motivation, drive, determination, hunger will always still be there. The greats are concerned more about legacy and accomplishments than the money. The money is just an awesome extra benefit of what you do. We have seen many times over, especially with the great fighters/athletes who have became wealthy and they still competed and went to work like nothing changed. So I don't necessarily agree with that statement or quote. The greats aren't defined by money. They don't let that stop them or get in their way. to name some, although im sure there have been more.. here are some examples: Floyd mayweather is one classic, obvious example.. Mike tyson. Roy Jones Jr. Canelo alvarez. Manny Pacquiao. Khabib nurmagomedov. Jon jones. Anderson silva. George St Pierre. Anthony Joshua. Sugar ray Leonard. Lennox Lewis. Oscar de la hoya. Muhammad ali.
@@bossfell of course he was good at featherweight. He was weight/size bullying them. Do I really got to explain? He's a true lightweight and could even pass as a welterweight..

So true i dont know how no one talks about this
He had such an advantage over the featherweights he is a true 155er the problem is the lightweight division is that stacked
Poirier looked considerably bigger than Conor their last fight, was actually kinda cringy.
He's a 145er, just has too much muscle mass to maintain. The best fighters are tall for their division, at 5"9 it's hard to be a great 155er, say for Porier. It's why guys like Sandhagen at 6" tall and who can make 135 are so dominant. Conor has so much muscle, fast twitch, that he's built for quick fights, you drag it out, he's done. Except for the second Diaz fight, and he barely held on there and was blessed to have hurt Nate early when he still had gas and use of those fast twitch muscles.
He is the smallest 155er other than Gregor Gillespie. Anybody else who walks at 165 cuts to 145
Mendez let him get inside his head, forgetting the golden rule… POSITION OVER SUBMISSION

This is my all time favorite Conor fight because of the short notice change of Chad filling in for Aldo, first time Conor being tested with a good wrestler and him dealing with adversity. Every time Chad took him down, he made him pay. That sharp teep kick pretty much disappeared from his arsenal these day. Getting his ass kicked by a midget who was only given TWO weeks notice for a five round fight. Crazy we have to go this far back to get conor highlights.
I’ve been a TAM guy from day 1 & loved Conor from his first UFC fight as well. U gotta respect Chad stepping in on a what 2 week call? Making weight & going after it. I believe had this been a full camp not only for Chad prepping for Conor but vice-versa I believe this would’ve likely went to a decision bc we most deff would’ve seen a more wrestling heavy style from Money more than we did. I think he had an adrenaline dump after that first takedown 15secs into the fight. Idk that the decision would’ve been any different than the result was but it would’ve been a much more interesting fight than it was not that it wasn’t but on a higher level. I think if this happened today we would likely get a result like we did when Khabib fought Conor. Chad wrestling him & wearing Conor down and either getting the stoppage or a UD. I TRULY TRULY HOPE WE GET THIS CONOR “THE OLD CONOR” ON SATURDAY BC IF HE LOSES TO DUSTIN AGAIN IDK WHATS LEFT...... with that said........ WAR MCGREGOR LETS FKN GO 🇮🇪🤙🏻🇮🇪
