  • Usmans fight IQ is too damn high. He stayed calm and composed the whole time. He got rocked but didn't panic, a lot of weight on his shoulders fighting someone that knows more about his strengths and weaknesses than his other opponents. He used the jab beautifully, gained momentum, and went in for the kill when it was ready. He also took advantage of kicking Burns, and giving him hard body shots instead of playing the ground game with him. Usman does things like this that help him in his fights. Like the shoulder strikes vs Woodley, foots stomps vs Masvidal, not wasting energy wrestling vs Colby another wrestler on his level, maybe higher or less, however Usman doesn't waste time engaging in this that could give him a hard time. Look at how he shut down Masvidals striking by smuthering him with his wrestling. Usman is handsdown one of the best to ever do it. Also, the fight was not a early stoppage. Burns was getting rocked repeatedly and wasn't doing anything, it was a good stoppage.

    @novusimperium3808@novusimperium38083 жыл бұрын
    • Don't forget he immediately clinched Gilbert after he got rocked. Most fighters panic and try to backup and then proceed to get lit up. He was able to overcome adversary and Gilbert wasn't. That's why he's champ

    • I think (according to interviews with other fighters - Anatomy of a fighter video) he is one of if not the most disciplined fighter on the roster. He never has a cheat day, he's always on target weight even when not in camp, he always puts in the hours, he never deviates from the game plan. Gaethje says he's the most disciplined guy he's met in a post fight tweet. Even Burns, who I am sure was as prepared as prepared could be admits that after he got that big punch in the first, he smelled blood and the gameplan went out the window. He's mentally up there, which I find amazing because he's at the pinnacle, and I wonder what drives him to be that disciplined every fight.

Since that day, I've been a huge fan. Watching this sport evolve to what it is now was an amazing experience for me. And I got to share it with my dad. • Bro Gilbert was literally walking in to them because he kept trying to pressure Usman and get the KO. I think Usman is a beast and his jab is good but Burns made his jab look better and in turn made Usman hit harder cause he was getting intercepted by it. Usman ain't a power puncher, he has decent power but it's really his elite level precision and timing that did Gilbert in
