  • Skarbowsky spoke up, recently, about this compilation. He explained he wanted the students to listen to him the day after, when he would came back for more technical and theorical teachings. Knowing he was facing young and potentially hot-minded wannabe fighters, he wasn't sure they would lesson if he'd go TOO gentle on them, while being a super humble, super respectful and super gentle man, usually. "So I had to be a little firm, just enough to make sure to set them in the right mind to listen, and not lose precious time trying to win their respect all over, the next day." Wasted or not, that's just sound logic and very controlled and canalized strenght, lol ;) JC is such a peach xD

Martial arts are relatively new and were initially used specifically for the military or for the guards of lords etc. everyone else was under a style of fighting unique to whoever created it, or would aim to create their own style. But they are all similar in the sense that they’re comprised of the same violence, but just with a different approach depending on which style you looking at. It’s just beautiful violence. The politics and nation building shit is not violence, therefore its not a part of martial arts. It’s just etiquette.

At this point Skarbowsky had been retired from active competition for five years, was clearly not in great shape with a gut hanging over his trunks, was hammered and then went out and manhandled GSPs whole team, going about 20% at most. And GSPs team had Michael Johnson, Alex Caceres, Jonathan Brookins and Cody McKenzie, who combined for 34 UFC wins. JCS just played with his food.

    • Not really. The old saying before people became small and frail in the last couple generations was: 'if you can't fight 'em drunk, don't fight em at all'. In otherwords, if you can't fight drunk, you can't fight. If you get drunk, that is. If you get high, you better be able to fight high.

    • When I was in high school, one of my friends had been in kickboxing since she was like 10 & we used to get wasted & box. Yeah I was dumb lol Needless to say, she kicked my ass in like 8-9 fights, but there were 2 fights that I put her down & she didn’t get up for a few mins, which scared the crap out of me especially the 2nd time, bc I had went too hard on her & thought I really hurt her. But I was young & completely wasted, so I couldn’t really judge how hard I was hitting. I also remember landing on a rocking chair & splitting my head open one night, but we kept going. I literally spent the rest of the night in the bathroom, hugging the toilet. Woke up the next morning with a gash on my forehead & bruises all over my side. Good times lol
