  • Ngannou and now Hunt This proves that you can't be a contender with only your raw KO power to rely on in today's UFC. Blaydes controlled rounds 2 and 3. Great gameplan and even better execution.

    @ballinboxer3676@ballinboxer36766 жыл бұрын
    • Exactly. Raw power can only take you so far - MMA has developed to much for fighters to be just one dimensional looking for that one punch.

    • Dikhed smithy Im not saying raw KO power can't win you fights. It certainly can. It can win you a lot of fights. Whaf I'm saying is you can't rely ONLY on your raw KO power.

    • Dikhed smithy Curtis is the one who exposed Ngannou's lack of a ground game. He was taking it to him until he got his eye closed up. Stipe should be thanking him.

  • Smart fight by Blaydes man! I think Stipe would have a lot of problems with his fightin style. Mark Hunt will forever be an og and a pioneer of not just mma, but combat sports in general. Respect to the legend for always showin up to fight, duckin no man, and makin no excuses!

    • Occifer FigPucker When? He always comes and fights a straight up fair fight. The only time he complains, if u could even call it that, is if he fights roid heads like Lesnar.

      @Calel_S@Calel_S6 жыл бұрын
    • Teth Adamus He literally said he knew Brock was a roid head and he didn't care, but as soon as he loses he starts crying about it. Hunt was great when he was humble, now he just pisses and moans all the time. His lame record is proof of his overrated career.

      @occiferfigpucker4840@occiferfigpucker48406 жыл бұрын
    • Occifer FigPucker well I guess he did contradict himself with that statement but I sure as hell won’t slander his martial arts resume irregardless of how much he has lost. That man is a legend, has competed against a slew of other legends, and he is still fightin as an older gentleman and I personally will not take that away from him.

      @Calel_S@Calel_S6 жыл бұрын
    • Eduardo Flores I agree but Stipe has been k.od before and rocked by several fighters in the past so Blaydes has a chance in that category. Plus Blaydes is a young man and is still growin/learnin. I wasn’t sayin Blaydes would beat him, I just think he could give Stipe a good fight with the style he has.

  • Blaydes keeps getting better and better. He deserves a big top 3 ranked fight IMO. Give him 1-2 years with the right camp and he may be able to dethrone Stipe-that remains to be seen but no one can say this dude isn't a Top 5 ranked level of fighter, getting better all the time with his hard training and strict nutrition, and here to stay at the top of the HW division for a long time. A team like JacksonWink or TriStar could make this dude a World Champion.

  • Blaydes did what he had to do to get the W. Strong chin and smart fighter. Thick beard may have prevented an early nap. Good heart to take shots and adjust gameplan. Slightly arrogant dancing post fight is a minus. Looks intimidating but his fighting style didn't match up with it. Wrestling is an elite skill but won't win you a lot of fans that enjoy striking. Wrestlers have an edge over strikers by default (one whiff and its control ground and pound). Both fighters represented their styles well.

  • Curtis won the fight fair and square did what he had to do to not get his head blown off, the thing is you don't make fans that way in this sport unfortunately. Also, I didn't see anything that would give Stipe a problem.
