UFC today announced that the classic 2015 fight between welterweights Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s ‘Fight Wing’ as a part of the class of 2023. The 2023 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Toyo Tires®, will take place on Thursday, July 6, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

There was no second of doubt from Rory, dudes nose was shattered to pieces and was breathing from his mouth from the time he started leaking blood from his nose. You can see he was overcome by the incredible amount of pain he was feeling from getting cracked in the face over and over again for 5 rounds. Guy put up a legendary performance
i'll never forget firas wiping his face off before the 5th and as soon as rory got up his nose was just leaking out blood all over him immediately. idk how he fought with that for like 2.5 rounds man brutal

The Red King delivered on his change in moniker in one of the bloodiest and most memorable fights in UFC history. They pushed each other to their limits. The bone chilling stare down at the end of the 4th is one of the most iconic moments in sports in my opinion. Rory pushing himself until his body just gave up, Robbie with his lip split in half, it's like this fight was from a movie.
I was at this match live. This was the fight that officially secured me my love for MMA and is one of the all-time great wars in the history of the sport. This absolutely deserves its Hall of Fame spot.

Literally the best fight of all time. This should’ve been for the BMF Title.
Many moons ago I was cornering a friend's fight in Kelowna BC. We were preparing my friend in the back rooms with the other fighters that were in that corner that night. The quiet whispers around the locker room was that this kid in there, Rory from Toshido MMA, had just got himself a several fight (3?) contract with the UFC. To look at him then, you would have never believed it. He was small and quiet with no killer look to him at all. Who knew back then that this small town Canadian kid would become one of the top names in UFC years later? Dana and the top brass sure did. Congrats to Rory and Robbie on this amazing fight that most certainly took a permanent toll on both fighters.

Not only is this the greatest fight of all time. Ufc 189 has to be a top 3-5 pov of all time. From Stephens knee, to Almeida knee to Gunnar choke to this fight to mcgregor cementing his status with FWs. I’ll never forget it. Vividly remember buying this ppv and it was my first one ever!
The walkouts for the two top fights were memorable too.

At last , our wish finally came true , the legendary title fight I thought last year was the time they put it there that I thought they wouldn't put it this year either, but man it was about time this fight takes Fight Wing , much respect to both the ruthless champ Robbie Lawler and the ferocious challenger Rory MacDonald for this amazing show of skill , heart , determination and toughness , it's top 10 GOAT fights with ease.
