Mayweather would've come in harder and knocked him off in the first round or two. But that was not the game play, his whole play was to get Connor gassed. Yes Connor may have won the first 3 rounds but strategy won at the end. Mayweather clearly won no matter the technicals. MMA and Boxing are two different sports. Pauli made a great point: Referee would not have stopped the bout if McGregor had thrown a punch or two in the final 15 seconds. The fact that Mayweather threw unanswered punches that were landing, told him that McGregor had had enough. There used to be a standing 8 count available for situations like that. Referee did his job well.

Fair play to Conor for getting in there. Secured his future financially, in a sport that isn't his first and lasted 10 rounds. Great trash talker and very entertaining. However, I had it 7 rounds to 2 (mayweather) going into the 10th, 6-3 at best if you wanna give Conor the 3rd. The people who say he did great because he landed more punches - he only landed more than pacquiao because mayweather was coming straight forward and not jabbing and moving like most of his recent fights, and mcgregor only won the first 2/3 rounds because mayweather didn't throw anything and allowed him to, as he knew he would tire later on. Technically a very one sided fight as expected, but again props for going in there with one of the best ever!

Conor, proficient in many martial art disciplines went against the best boxer in the world who only knows one discipline and actually won several rounds against him. In my book, he did very well. He had no chance on paper and many boxing experts said he wouldn't even land a punch. Conor surprised many by doing as well as he did. But at the end of the day, Floyd is an amazing boxer, arguably the best ever and at the very least the best of this generation. If you hate on Conor for losing against the worlds best boxer, I don't know what to say. It was an amazing contest and the build up was out of this world. We will most likely not see something like this again for a long long time.

When boxing experts say he wouldn't land a punch they mean he wouldn't land a meaningful punch. Any fucktard can land a punch but in boxing the aim is to land a punch that counts. A punch that means something. Connor literally landed 2 meaningful punches - one uppercut in the early rounds and one low right hand body shot (which the ref called a low blow) to Floyd's hip in the later rounds which hurt Floyd a bit. So yeah the boxing experts were wrong but not by much. Two meaningful punches compared to dozens of meaningful punches from Floyd's is basically not landing a punch!
