The style Islam has developed is also a direct result of training against Khabib. He is defensive in all his approach and Khabib is the opposite.

When Islam lost to Martins he became the Least hit fighter in UFC history! Imagine the monster he will become after Volk fight.
Volk didnt hit him with much significanc to the scoring until the last 2 minutes of a 5 round fight, the previous 4.5 rounds islam was dominating in striking.

Colby is 10x more boring a fighter than Islam is, Colby just wet blankets people for 15-25 minutes. Islam finished 5 of his last 6 fights. Colby hasn't finished a fight since 2016 😂

Big difference for Charles in this fight compared to all others is he can't march forward as reckless in the striking. He usually has the advantage given by the fact that if he's dropped he just rests on the canvas a little since nobody follows him on the ground. Islam does.

The fight with Volk was extremely competitive, with both men having many huge striking and grappling moments. If this video is to showcase "Why Islam Reigns Supreme", then why was the entire Volk clip only showing a moment where Volk was having success? That was disrespectful af.

They didn't do Islam much justice with the Volk fight though 😂 Round 5 was the round Volk was starting to come on strong, even though Islam won the majority of the earlier rounds.
@madgavin7568 if you want to change the rules of the contest to favour 1 man, you're being disingenuous. Islam won the 4 preceeding rounds and half of the 5th as well. What would happen in a 6th 7th 8th is a non issue because the fight is 5 rounds long.

yeah just after he lost he said that but as weeks and months went by he started being delusional and came up with these excuses "i wasn't myself" "i was only 10% that night"...etc. i think he knew just accepting the defeats won't help him train harder and be motivated to fight for the belt again, so yeah being delusional helps sometimes.

lol me too, but looking at it again, you can see how Volk was tired as hell too, his ground and pound was precise but lacked power, otherwise he wouldve finish Islam, they both were completely tired at that point and none of them wouldve finished each other.
@@juamachin Volk was not tired at all, Islam was doing a good job typing him up in guard to stop Volk from really letting his hands go. Volk has ferocious and relentless GnP, once he gets going with that its extremely difficult to stop him. Make no mistake, had Islam not done that Volk might have either won a 10-8 round or potentially score a late TKO.
Sadly.. It was only in the fifth round that Volk really did well..

Volk on top of Islam at the end of rnd 5 then they show Islam winning is insane! The UFC did Islam dirty with this video, they highlighted all of the "boring" aspects of Islams career, when they should have showcased his underrated striking/ judo throws and trips, most of what i saw in this video is exactly where most people get caught up and call Islam "boring" Yet another clear example of the UFC steering the audience away from who they dont want to be champ, I know Islam has plenty more of instances where he shows off skills that are more "desirable" to market with yet the UFC Chops together a bunch of shots of islam in a "boring" grappling exchange, maybe not such a dominate spot instead of the 90% of other more marketable examples they could have used. For instance islam rocked and knocked down Volk a few good times in their fight, yet they show volk on top of islam landing some ground and pound, then islam wins? I have watched that fight plenty of times and scored it 4-1 to Islam every time. Obviously volk is a beast and definitely gave islam one hell of a fight and cracked that aura of invincibility that islam and khabib seem to carry, but islam won that fight... if had gone 2 more rounds.. well thats a another story, i think volk had better cardio that night. but to show your champion getting beat up in any light just doesnt look good. they could have used 10 other big shots, punches and kicks that islam clearly landed on volk in that fight yet they show that? UFC you need to do better

Islam's wins aged extremely well. Tsarukyan is now probably 1-2 wins away from the title shot, might be 1 if it's Dariush next. Posibly rematches Islam soon Hooker was #6 when he fought Islam. Recently he beat "new generation" lightweight #10 Jailin Turner. Hooker is a 155 top7 gatekeeper. Dober after losing to Islam had a good winning streak and managed to get to top 15, holds most KO's in 155 history. Still at the edge of top15 Green smh unranked prolly in his prime. Beat some young prospects, subbed Tony. Moises was #14 when he fought Islam, now at the edge win-lose-win-lose situation. Still very young. Fights good fighters And then beating Charles and Volk, #3 and #1 p4p's. Crazy considering Oliveira's pre-title ranked wins are retired Kevin Lee and washed Tony on 6 fights losing streak. Not saying Oliveira is bad, obviously he showed how good he is after getting the belt, by beating guys from top5.

I'm a fan of Oliveira, but I'm sincere when I say Oliveira has everything to lose again. The advantage of Islam already begins in the physical. Look at Islam's body he is literally thick. And when we look at his skills... he's really good! Especially against aggressive guys like Charles. Adding all this up we still have the fact that he will fight "at home"... It's a very difficult fight for Oliveira but my fans continue, this guy has already turned things around so much that it's hard not to believe in him.

But I don't think so and the reason would be the fact that the fight took place in Australia. What happened was that the rehydration time was shorter than it usually is. It was just 12 hours that benefited Volkanovski. Compare Makhachev's body in Abu Dhabi vs in Australia... You can see that his body withered
but australian comission gave ufc 293 a 40+ hours rehydration time lol

Islam to me is the best fighter the ufc has ever had. Never seen a more dominant grappler have that elite level of striking before and imo that’s the best combo to have in mma. With that being said Volk being able to keep up with Islam how he did was just absolutely insane.

Khabib has never fought a fighter like Islam who can ACTUALLY defend his takedowns and make it a striking battle where Islam clearly has the advantage. The last time Khabib fought someone like that was Al Iaquinta who is a good grappler but not even comparable to Islam. The fight would be like Khabib vs Al Iaquinta with the difference that Islam would be the one piecing Khabib up on the feet.
