  • Love seeing Nate in such good spirits. You can see the relief and the weight lifted off his shoulders, and the freedom of being able to do whatever he wants to next. I’m really happy for him.

  • I always wonder what would have happened if Nate and even Nick took leg kicks more seriously, if they themselves used kicks in a more devastating way and tried to be more versatile/less predictable overall... This guy is still one of the most dangerous fighters and fights out there, even after all the damage he has taken throughout his career. If you sleep on him even for a second, you get slept. It feels so strange to see him leave the UFC without ever winning a title. Wish him the best.

    @igorsenayoutube@igorsenayoutube Жыл бұрын
    • Nick has an entire philosophy about that. They didn't because it's not part of what he believes is the most efficient technic. Throwing a leg kick exposes your face to a counter punch . Especially the 1-2, and especially when it comes from a long reach opponent. They can check leg kicks, it's just or you check, or you counter punch....It's a fight, they go offense. Period. They've always taken things very seriously, they just don't agree with you.... In addition, they're righties fighting southpaw. I bet you can't kick a ball with you weak leg right? (whatever if you lefty or righty). Imagine trying to throw a leg kick with your opposite leg. Too much work for not so much capitalizing. Boxing is the best martial art about throwing fists. You don't do it this good in kickboxing, or even Karate only because of that front leg....Key point. Unless you're Barbosa or that type of kickboxer, it's really not worthy. (and even him exposes his chin when he does so) Think about it. There are some Glory (one FC?) champs inhere... Adesanya could bet entirely on it, but he doesn't. Even the best kickers don't use it so much at the end. It was a thing in the past. People adapt. The moment a boxer learns how to check, he becomes very dangerous to throw a leg kick at. Boxers in kickboxing have for most of them always done very good about that. Le Banner being a good example. IDK. If you think about it, they never lost a fight because of leg kicks. (Dos Anjos being an exception after all and the dude was probably on juice I believe) A debate that will always exist. After all Martial Arts have always been about who's go the best technic and vision of fighting....

I think reality is it hurts to kick even as the kicker, so for the most part they prefer hands. look at tony's leg in the fight, i'm sure that hurt like a bitch even tho he was finding success.

    • @@FangsOfKomodo yeah and like the example i gave about the second mcgregor fight. Backstage mcgregor was limping like a motherfucker. I don't necessarly mean changing their entire game to be more kickboxing based or something; just give their opponents something to think about. And who would think Nate would use leg kicks in a certain way, right? It would be unpredictable. But it's all what ifs i get it, that's why i originally commented that i wonder whaf if...
