An altercation between Khamzat Chimaev and Kevin Holland occurs backstage resulting in Dana cutting the UFC 279 Pre Fight Press Conference short. Kevin Holland, Tony Ferguson, Nate Diaz make weight but Khamzat Chimaev does not. Dana White announces a new fight card. The new matchups of UFC 279 face off: Nate Diaz vs Tony Ferguson, Khamzat Chimaev vs Kevin Holland, and Li Jingliang vs Daniel Rodriguez. UFC 279 is on Saturday, September 10.

  • Does anyone else thinks it's a little suspect that they had Kevin Holland and Danial Rodriquez fighting at a catch weight on a main card. Holland and Khamzat get into yesterday behind the scenes. Holland weighs in at 179 and Khamzat misses weight at 178 and suddenly the card gets shuffled with them fighting. Just seems a little staged to me.

  • I believe that was the plan the whole time, but they only used the Nate vs Khamzat headliner to sell the fight more then Nate vs Tony, especially with it being Nates last ride. Cause usually when someone misses weight this close to the fight the fight is cancelled altogether but for them to switch the fights around to make it seem so perfect and Khamzat and Kevin getting into the little brawl in the back kinda gave it away

    • I’m not a Khamzat fan at all and as much as I want to hate him for this, I believe it was set up by Dana/UFC to change the fights around. Khamzat never missed weight and even fought two different weight classes in two weeks. There’s no way he’d miss weight by over 7 pounds for real

    • Nate usually doesn't show that level of respect to his opponents before a fight. Typically in Diaz-fashion its mind-games with middle-fingers and some trash-talk, but you can tell Nate respects Tony and vice versa.
