  • What most people don't understand is that Khabib also had a 1 day notice against Al. Al's also got a solid wrestling background and is tough as they come. Even if it went all 5 rounds, Khabib was really just playing with and testing his striking skills like he was sparing (in a title fight!), and still won 50-43 in all the judges scorecards. *Dominant* 5 rounds.

What a great skillset to practice striking, having an iron chin and being a world class wrestler...if the striking doesnt pan out or if they are dumb enough to insult him by trying to grapple he can just drag them down and submit them. I bet by he retires Khabib will be a good striker, reminiscent of a guy like Dan Henderson. Dan was known as "Decision Dan" for the first half or 40% of his career...but he had such a chin and fall back plan wrestling he honed his fists and became known as a wild power puncher w vicious KO power. To be fair to A IQ, in this clip, he didn't claim to have created the blueprint for how to find/exploit a weakness in KN, Matt Serra implied it (more or less). Granted, Al didn't correct Matt, so it was kinda cheesy.

  • Khabib is dominant in every fight. Totally on a different level from his opponents, and is respectful to his opponents (except that 1 guy). It's unlikely that he will be beaten. He's so good.... I don't get excited for his fights anymore, it's more like a formality than a challenge. Tyson and Mayweather (Boxing),Hamilton and Schumacher (F1 Racing), Valentino Rossi (MotoGP) Demitrious, GSP, Silva... after a while you just expect them to dominate every single time. As a fan, I'd love to see Khabib challenged by something new. Like moving up in weight and challenging bigger/other guys. He wants to add to his legacy... challenging himself will do that. Fight GSP at 170. Not 155. Guys dropping weight later in their careers/getting up in age usually don't do as well as they used to do in their actual weightclass. Beating a depleted and smaller GSP at 155 isn't a true legacy achievement In my opinion. (Hyperbolic) example: Cejudo would beat Stipe at 125. Because Stipe wouldn't survive the weightcut, if he somehow does, he will be weak. But first... Tony.

    • @yes I was high when I wrote it... now I read it, it confuses me too. What I mean is... I'm an mma fan, I like Khabib... but I like not knowing who will win, because it a challenge for both fighters, more. A ppv card costs me E 59.99. After Tony, who actually stands a chance to compete with Khabib? My comparison was too extreme. But I thought of another one. Amanda beat Valentina twice at 135. Valentina is dominant at 125. Amanda has a hard time making 135. If they fight for the 3rd time at 125, and Valentina wins. The story will probably be that Amanda suffered from the cut. GSP fought at 185 in his last fight, and that was years ago. Fighting GSP at 155 (30 pounds lighter than his last fight). Will not mean as much, as a fight at 170 would. They are about the same size, and after Tony, Khabib would have beaten 29 guys at 155. GSP never had to cut that much. For legacy... that is an argument people will use. If I were a hater, I would say this after a 155 with GSP happened to discredit Khabib or something like that.
