    • Let’s not forget that Tony has fought the best of the best, none of these guys he fought his last few fights were contenders. All killers. That has to be considered with his last few performances, not just the fact that he lost. And he deserves that consideration and respect. People who understand the sport and aren’t casuals understand this. The moment he fights an up and coming opponent or someone whose skills are more matched with his AND he has a poor performance, that is when it’s time to start reconsidering things, and Dana spoke on that. Think of it like this: Take a contender, a less experienced fighter to face Amanda Nunes: Amanda will eat that person for breakfast with a side of fruit. Of course! Without going into a bunch of explanation, this is probable. Take that same contender and match them with another contender with their same level of abilities, skill set, experience, and all things considered for a match up, etc., etc. you’d expect to see a different outcome and they can showcase their skills more. If they still don’t, then it’s potentially no longer circumstantial, but an individual thing. Unfortunately that’s situation with Tony and what I interpret Dana saying. I’m not making a literal comparison, just an attempt to simplify a concept for an example.
