  • So much respect for Jan. 99.9% of fighters who know they lost will still act like they deserved it in a win or draw situation. The fact that he keeps it real is extremely honorable. He only wants the victory if he truly feels he earned it.

  • Watching this fight almost get me heart attack. They fight really really hard. And what makes it really amazing is that Ankalaev came back after so much damage on his both legs. Unfortunately, the judges saw different things from what we witness. If there is so called champ with no crown then Ankalaev is the man. Also huge huge respect for Jan. He is true gentleman.

    @syaddhamhusain@syaddhamhusain Жыл бұрын
    • That is not true. Ankalev lost the first three rounds based on the damage that was caused clearly. After that he started grappling and even scored a 10-8 in the last round being lucky that Jan totally overreacted. If he wouldn't have gone down by this. We tend to score the last rounds stronger than the rest, but this is not the rulebook.

    • the judging was correct to be honest. it doesnt matter if you dominate two rounds and lose three rounds closely. the fight is not scored as a whole. and he even got the 10-8 by two judges although the damage was not very significant in round 5. i think a draw is the correct way to go. of course Jan felt like loosing after getting dominated the last two rounds. And casual observers don't give the same weight to the first and last round but these are the rules. look at the damage after three rounds. Jan had zero damage, ankalev two legs down and his head busted. Clearly Jan won the three rounder. two rounds domination are not enough.

Yes, the leg kicks were heavy and effective in R2 and early R3, but to what end? Only this: shifting the fight to a place where Jan had zero offense and got taken apart for over 2 rounds-culminating in him being about 3 headshots from having Goddard waive him out.
