  • Zombie is a str8 up gangsta. Bites down on his mouthpiece & tries to continue fighting without showing much of a wince or grimace in pain, other than to try popping it back in mid-fight. Gets power kicked in it 3 times & tackled to the mat, with Aldo atop him. Still no reaction. But once it was called & over, he finally lets go & you can see how painful it is in his face. What a soldier!!! A TRUE fighter. He's such a decent & honorable guy outside MMA as well. Gonna miss seeing him fight. Wishing him nothing but the best in the next chapter of his life. And His send off......WOW!!!!!..... What a special moment, right after the Holloway fight, with the whole crowd LOUDLY singing in unison, as he lays down his gloves & cries & laughs & embraces his camp while walking out, the Cranberries....."In your HeAAAd...in your He-EE-aa-ee-EE-aad.. ... Zah..ambie....Zaaah..ambie....Zaaaahmbay a-ay a-ay!!!" That was probably one of the most touching moments I've ever seen at a UFC event. It was like watching a movie of someone's life in real time at an epic turning point. Plus the dude went out on his shield like a true fighter. Not smart to get reckless with Holloway. But you know what...he went for broke...and in REALITY...that is probably the ONLY way to take Max out. You can't do it over time, that cardio & notorious jab of his will always be there & hell put the work in & get the nod. I love that Zombie was like "f-this...it's all or nothing." Max even said it right after, " I just thank God my right landed before his." At that point, locked in a barn-burner of throwing continuous relentless hay-makers back & forth, standing in each other's kitchen, you've got a 50/50 chance. I think Max held back a little bit too, which also shows what a good person he is as well There were a couple moments where Max could've finished, but had too big of a heart to give him the true Holloway punishment. Really gonna miss watching Zombie fight. But since the Rodriguez & Volk fights, he just hasn't been the same fighter. Thank u for Everything Chan Sung Jung. MMA won't be the same without u.

Brian Ortega and Max Holloway are the only two I can think of. Also what drugs are you on to say Volkanovski beat a prime Aldo, prime Aldo was like 2011-2013, he was washed in 2019 when Volk beat him, at that point he’d lost to McGregor and Holloway twice, was starting to fight bums and was a fight away from moving down to bantamweight.

  • Thank you for an amazing career, Aldo. The Featherweight GOAT and absolute Legend. Many people may have forgotten or just didn't know that Aldo fractured his foot early in this fight. At 2:39 he whiffs on a leg kick as kz is stepping to the side but it lands with the instep and hits kz's knee. Just a freak accident, the kick wasn't even checked. Heading into the second round you start to see the grotesque swelling forming on Aldo's right instep, a clear sign of a fracture. Aldo even slowed his low kick heavy approach for a while after this fight. Thankfully, he later returned to using more low kicks again.

      @dannyy8619@dannyy86197 ай бұрын
    • @dannyy8619 It really wasn't a full-fledged check, let's be real here. He was in the middle of an evasive maneuver, shifting away laterally and slightly lifted his leg simply because that was his stepping leg and Aldo happened to land the kick on the hard part of zombie's knee. It was mostly fluke and luck that the kick landed badly. It was no more intentional than zombie's shoulder getting dislocated. I'm not specifically saying YOU are saying, but people need to take their nostalgia bias glasses off for a moment even though the sentiment is high because of zombie's recent emotional swan song. An argument I've heard too often from too many kz fans, is they like to pretend like it was all part of kz and his team's brilliant strategy to injure and stop Aldo's kicks that way. All of fighting is a percentage of luck too. Not every maneuver that takes place successfully is 100% premeditated or intended to go exactly as it did. That's why so many pro fighters often don't "feel" the connection of the knockout strikes they land in the heat of the moment, especially with adrenaline flowing. Sure, they drill the combos and techniques in sparring but what plays out is often only an improvisation of what they intended.

      @vicentesalasii1480@vicentesalasii14807 ай бұрын
    • @@vicentesalasii1480 Zombie has talked about training specifically to check Aldo's kicks in interviews before. If you think that an elite UFC fighter goes through 12 weeks of fight camp training specifically to defend Aldo's leg kicks and then in the fight the kick just "happens to land on his knee" then you're not giving these fighters enough credit. These are the best fighters on the planet. They're not amateur fighters competing in their fifth fight. The check was not a fluke. He turned his knee intentionally even as he was stepping back. Elite fighters can move, circle, check kicks, and counter back at once.

  • Really glad that there's next to no one calling Aldo a bad person or unsportsmanlike for attacking Zombie's dislocated shoulder. This isn't some casual spar in the gym, it's for the fucking world champion title, and Zombie himself chose to keep fighting. Hate it when people bitch about that type of thing in serious matches, when people don't give up with injuries it's not because they expect their opponent to take it easy on them and avoid the weak spot.

He survived Ortega's best weapons and beat the shit out of him, he dominated TKZ. Volk just needs a few more title defences to be considered the FW GOAT.
