Brock had issues when he fought dmaller guys like Couture and Velasquez but when fighting guys bigger than him he run through them. Smaller guys are just better everywhere, the huge amount of size won't help Brock against skilled fighters u fool, Randy Couture was basically a LHW before and fought Brock at thr age of 50 when he was all juiced up and still had problems beating an old man.

You don't stop a fight 'cause one hammer fist grazed the top of the back of the other dude's head. It's the base of the spine that's an issue and it wasn't even a solid shot. • Little things on the ground too; not trying to just overbear him with size and strength but cautiously pushing and adjusting. Even the hand on Mir's throat so Mir is uncomfortable and not able to just look for things to grab. I was firmly on the side of you can't just jump into MMA from a standing start so I wanted Mir to win again honestly but what Brock accomplished was remarkable. I'm also conscious that everyone missed the point though; he wasn't doing that because he was an extremely accomplished amateur wrestler. @SwankyNosh@SwankyNosh3 жыл бұрын
    • @@SwankyNosh Mostly. i think in a fight, anything can happen. 125lb women could do it, if opponent is gassed or unlucky enough to be in that very position. But yeah, the unusual size strength is definitely a factor. Same reason guys like Ngannou and Anthony Johnson obliterate people. Same tactics as others, just way more horsepower. Athletics/strength is def a tool..Mir is a BJJ blackbelt at 245 lbs.. Lesnars giant back is scary when spread out on top of you. Every single one of his short ground and pound strikes are SOOO strong, i could only imagine...This was also a grudge fight..pure malicious intent, from both guys tbh. Mir held that leg lock too long in first fight. He thought Brock was a scrub.

      @LINKMASTERX@LINKMASTERX3 жыл бұрын
    • Based*Beerus* God-of-Seduction, I’m thinking specifically about the part where Brock puts his left arm around the back of Mir’s neck and then cranks it to the side by leaning his bully upper body to the side, forcing Frank’s upper body to turn sideways. Punch punch punch. Frank keeps trying to get his chest facing up but Brock keeps leaning to the side to turn Frank’s upper body. Do you know what I mean?

      @SwankyNosh@SwankyNosh3 жыл бұрын
    • @@SwankyNosh yeah, and i considered that in my response lol. a part of me thinks that frank also played it a little too "safe". he took heavy ground n pound in the first fight, and here he seemed too relaxed as if he were going to catch another leglock eventually..but Brocks strength clearly was the biggest factor (not complaining). it was also a smart, unusual tactic, to "hammerlock" like that. rewatch those strikes. hes angry AF and using that arm that can curl and delt raise an awesome amount of weight, im sure..

First UFC fight ever and you're up against a giant like Mir, a fight which even though he lost he was dominating. Then to come back and avenge his loss in this fashion! Just wow. The question will always be, what would Brock have been had he trained MMA from the outset, how far would he have risen. Surely he would've developed the all-round skillset to handle a prime Cain. Sad that we were denied that.

Lesnar was really hard to beat before he got sick, hell when he fought Carwin he was so durable that getting beat up the entire first round was a benefit, because hitting him so many times tired Carwin out more than it harmed Lesnar, and Carwin was a pretty deadly striker.
