Seeing this guy breakdown after the fight was really heart aching. Such a good dude. It's crazy that we forget we're not just watching two killers fight it out but also two individuals put themselves in the most vulnerable position someone can be in. Much respect to him and Usman.
That “good dude” backstabbed his teammate for ufc gold lol

he really is not with that cardio and chin he showed tonight. Couldnt even handle Usman's jab, imagine what Wonderboy would do to him from a distance with kicks, or Colby would do with his insane pressure and cardio, or Masvidal would do with his better striking and chin. Even though I was rooting for Usman, it’s hard for me to gloat about his win, because I like Burns. He seems to be a genuine, good person. So I take no pleasure in seeing him getting knocked out.
i keep coming back to this conference 😢
GB is a class act. A man that is gracious and humble in defeat; it speaks volumes about who he is as a person. Something tells me that this will not be his only shot at the title strap! That said, Usman is without question the real deal!
He is built to destroy and end a fight quickly, not sustain and be a duration fighter. I think his chances would’ve increased if he really threw himself out after hurting usman. He says he got excited but clearly, he was hesitant after hurting him. He just prolonged the inevitable by letting usman get away in the first round.
Exactly
I have to disagree. Burns was putting up an inhuman pace in that first. That's not sustainable. Also going balls to the wall you open yourself up to getting caught, losing momentum, etc.
I bet you he won a lot of their sparring. He seemed wayyy too comfortable in there until those ass kicks started hurting him
Thats fine to say in hindsight but he just went 5 rounds with Woodley last fight and didn't break a sweat so I'd say he just got excited after clipping Usman and then that heavy jab started landing flush from Usman and it went downhill from there
If you're saying he prolonged the "inevitable " then rushing Usman like you suggested would have just shortened the "inevitable " and he would have lost quicker
That jab was vicious just by lookin at his face
Respect to Mr Gilbert for being true honest not putting the blame on some made up injury or any other nonsense, a wise young man in a hard tuff sport, it's a beautiful life lesson to youngsters in all fields, all the best to both fighters from moroccan fan

Gilbert "no love" Durinho
Shouldve rushed Usman after that big shot in Rd 1. Wouldve been over.
That’s what made him lose. He wasn’t patient enough after that right. When you catch somebody your killer instinct tells you to go crazy and taste blood. That’s the wrong thing to do. When a guy is hurt at the level they are, you can take your time and maintain perfect shot selection.
I think I know where you are coming from. He didn’t seem to go crazy which would’ve been bad but he froze which is basically the same mistake. He needed to realize he had him hurt and walked him down methodically. Poirier is very good at it.
@@tommythayer6753 Thats cos Poirier's fight story is basically getting the shit beaten out of him and beating up other people to the point where he has this intimate understanding of when people are hurt, and that's why he's such a terrifying finisher when he smells blood. I disagree about burns though. He did rush and pressure kamaru. Usman just has a titanium skull. Look at what he ate; Burns' huge right hand, two more, a left hook, a knee on a clinch entry, and a head kick. He should have been dead right there. That final head kick made Burns slip and gave Usman time to recover.
Good performance take the time you need cant wait to see you bounce back!!

I think he should've gone for a kill instead of holding back when he tagged him in the first round. That was the momentum shift imo
