Even though he’s probably not going to be a champ, Edson is an absolute legend of the sport.
You never know, look at Korean Zombie, he is getting his chance
There are guys who win belts, and there are guys who win hearts, Edson is the latter.
The title is just a way for the casual fans to know who's legit, there are a ton of legit fighters that never touched a belt.
@@bushisback112 shut up casual.
@@joooanit0224 Shut up you, casual..
Barboza has this kind of fighting style that everyone wants to see
Edson is such a beast, fought some of the best, never backed down and a hell of an entertaining fighter! One of the few who’s ended guys with leg kicks 😅
He did it before it was meta
Barboza is one of those iconic and unique fighters who is so good at something specific that is a joy to watch. Win or lose is always fun to watch Barboza perform.
“Do you wanna take a chance and risk getting KNOCKED OUT”
The thing that makes the KO on Dariush so impressive is that Barboza made the read that after every jab Beneil kept going for the takedown.
Right, he actually got hit with the jab and didn’t look like he could even see. Just threw the knee knowing the head would be there
The timing was brilliant and one of the cleanest KO’s in the sport
Terry Etim had 5 UFC finishes including a head kick KO but this is all anyone remembers his career as, Barboza straight absorbed that mans career.
Did he continue to fight after that?
@@aegisreflector1239 he had 2 more fights afterwards 1 win and won loss
@@aegisreflector1239 He fought a bus
@@aegisreflector1239 He fought 2 more times than retired, last I heard he tried to take his own life a few years back. The fight game is fun to watch for sure, but man these guys, especially the ones who never reach that championship level, seem oftentimes to have tough post-career roads
@@Jon_Africa40 if that's true that's sad man. You gotta go into this game knowing you might get more than likely wrecked. That's why imo you gotta have solid skill, mentality and team/ coaches,if not don't even do it.
He will always be remembered in the MMA World!
Before there was the Giga Kick, there was the Edson kick.
The giga kick is a myth lol.
@@jrescobedo5878 yeah, our boy CK exposed the myth in a very definitive way.... However Giga did beat Edson.
@@gchammertime1557 true
@@jrescobedo5878 I love CK, he is awesome. I also like Giga. And Edson. They are all 3 awesome fighters.
No such thing as giga kick. That's just silly. Its literally a left rear roundhouse, he gon break his toes if he keep pointing em
Every punch and kick he does has vicious intentions, full throttle.
One of the best strikers this sport has known. Legend
I'd say he's the best kicker. One of the best striker? Idk tho
@@2D_Stranger yea that works too lol
One of the greatest pure athletic fighters in UfC history
No one in the ufc is like nfl players tho
@@bastard342 Because it’s a different sport, they train their bodies for different things, nobody is gonna look at a cross fit guy thinking he can take down a lineman but it’s different kinds of athletic. How they make up their Body composition and the steroids and SARMs they take are vastly different from MMA. MMA takes steroids designed to cut fat, drain water, and build muscles meant for endurance, where as NFL players look to gain fat, muscle, and overall mass while being able to explode in short increments.
@@bastard342 yes no one in the ufc is quite as obese as guys in the nfl you’re correct
@@bastard342 idk I think a few fighters have nfl type athleticism
@@bastard342 1. They would still get they ass beat. 2. NFL athletes are overrated
Regardless of his recent losses, this dude is an epic fighter. Crazy athlete. Definitely the scariest fighter outside of the top 10.
Tbf, he's had time in the top tens previously.
Recent losses? He’s on a streak rn
@@KevinS7300 he lost to Chikadze.

That Terry Etim Knockout is still one of the best
in the UFC history _Joe Rogan
One of the nastiest KO's ever. Poor Terry Etim stiffened up like a statue and collapsed like a tree from that kick.
@@madgavin7568 he is a really good fighter so it sucks people remember him like this
Edson never even fighting for a title just shows how deep the level of talent the lightweight division has
Featherweight too.
LIGHTWEIGHT is a crazy division and some people still dont understand that.
Not to mention his fight of the nights with Dan Hooker, Tony Ferguson and Shane Burgos as of late aswell man has a natural ability to entertain the fans and give us incredible fights and finishes🙏🏼🇧🇷
Edson's fight with Dan Hooker was a masterclass, that was a real 'turn back the clock' moment for Edson. Shame it was hard to watch because Dan is too tough for his own good.
That spinning back kick against Hooker was nasty.
His highlight reel alone makes him a HOFer
That dariush KO was brutal
So Explosive and Ferocious. Barboza doesn't hit soft.
His kicks are a thing of beauty. Fantastic striker.
Barbosa is the human highlight reel. 👊🏼
Headkick ko Wheel kick ko Body kick ko The deadliest feet at 155 🔥🔥
3 leg kick tkos too
One of the best strikers at lightweight this dude can get a finish any damn way
Everyone loves watching Barbosa fight. Legend.
Edson's one of the coldest period
He has a champion blood man..👊 and his kicking ability is 🔥
Best Gatekeeper in the UFC
I love so much this fighter, so explosived, so skilled! I wish him good luck for his next fight.
so great seeing a fighter like Barboza getting the recognition he deserves.
Edson has defeated - Beneil dairush Anthony Pettis Gilbert Melendez Paul Felder Dan Hooker Shane Burgos Bobby Green
Damn that’s actually an impressive resume
He throws all his kicks so fast
I hope Edson has one more wheel kick walkoff KO before his career is done. It would just be poetic
Preferably on Bryce Mitchell… I’m praying for it
One of the most entertaining fighters in the last decade 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It’s crazy that the Shane Burgos KO didn’t get a bonus
It did. It was FOTN as well
Respect for not hitting Dariush after he was kod
That’s what’s awesome about Barboza. He knows when to stop
Edson will be missed when he’s retired. What a fucking legend. Enjoy the man while he’s here 🥊
He has the best leg, head and body kicks ive ever seen in an MMA fight..
Arguably the best striker in UFC history, I know guys like Izzy and Max, and Jones are here but Edson has been underrated his whole career imo.
Not even close lol
Well best kicker maybe. He’s hardly in top 3 best striker in the WHOLE history.
So how come he has so many close decisions in fights where he isn't getting taken down the whole time?
Wonderboy?
Best kicker of all time
Debatable.
@@sayville_silver Exactly, debatable that he is.
One of the best strikers of UFC history, for sure!
Always so excited for his fights. Such a legend!
He’s got one of the best highlight reels
Felder is lucky that kick didn’t land as flush it almost him directly in the back of the neck that could have been really bad
One of the most dynamic strikers we have ever seen. Bryce has his hands full this weekend
his kicks and general striking is just beautiful
The Baniel one is crazy.
There’s nothing worse than being knocked out next to the Burger King logo.
LOL 🤣
Barboza is one of the most entertaining fighters of all time
I 💕 Edison Barboza kick
These Kicks are vicious the spinning one omg and leg kicks aswell
The best kicks in the game.
What's shocking if you go back and watch is that Beniel Dariush was actually comfortably beating up Barboza on the feet for a round and a half before that KO.
Thats not shocking tbh Dariush is super legit
@@bushisback112 shut up casual.
Always put on the show 🔥🔥
One of the most fun fighters to watch
Great guy great fighter much respect
barbosa has had alot of good moments in his fights foreal foreal , some fighters at times dont even get off in there fights
Edson kick so memorable.
I love his kicks 😍
Legend.
"He tried to sweep the leg "🤣🤣that man brave as hell to try that considering the way Barbosa kicks
Barboza's wheel kick is a joy to behold
Love how it shows barboza beat felder to felder calling his next fight
my alltime favourite Barboza 👊
0:53 he recovered so quick with all those kicks
Easily deserves goat status at the bonus resume. The man is an absolute sniper. I think he could be champ. Absolutely never say never in the fight game.
This is one of the craziest fights I've ever seen!
2:19 was a beautiful battle. Both were holding on tight. Pure heart and will in that round.
Barboza is the most active fighter in ufc huge respect for him
Legend
Hard to have a sweeter highlight reel than that!
Edson Barboza is both my favorite UFC fighter of all time and my favorite Muay Thai practitioner in the UFC
I love how Joe Rohan gave himself credit for perfectly timing the word, knockout.
3:03 has GOT TO BE one of the best of these kicks thrown and captured on film in thr history of humanity. 10stars
The most dynamic kicker in ufc
My favorite ufc fighter of all time
Barboza’s kicked are terrifying 👀😂 how does someone kick that fast and that hard at the same time.... jeeeeez
The way he times that knee on Dariush. Unreal
Hall of Famer
WE NEED TO APPRECIATE HIM WHILE HES HERE!
I believe he has a better chance at LW. I hated to hear he dropped to a lighter division. I don’t think he was losing at LW because he was undersized, he was losing because he panics when he’s being pressured and that isn’t going to stop because he dropped weight. But I believe he’s going to beat Bryce this weekend. That sux tho, I really like Thug Nasty. Hopefully he’ll surprise me and get a monster ko
Edson Barboza vs Zabit Magomedsharipov will be a dream fight, kicks showdown
0:50 rewind it & watch several times 😂
It's so hard being a Barboza fan
That Dariush KO... 🤯
Imagine being an up and coming fighter and running into Barboza.
I always legitimately though Barboza could be the lightweight version of Aldo he just never had the takedown defense and balance Aldo had that is why he was so terrifying to wrestlers
Wheel kick was so fast he didn’t even have time to be a deer in the headlights
Poor Terry getting PTSD everytime Edson has a fight. Same situation with Adam whenever Uriah has one 🤣
Damn I forgot he put Dariush to sleep.
I didn’t know Barboza did Dariush like that 😅
No boring fights. Also that Heel kick killed Terry Etim
Every time barboza has a promo: Terry Etim: Ah shit here we go again
"It really poses the guestion what you want to do. Do you take a change and risk GETTING KNOCKED OUT!!"
2:40 that guy was still thinking about how painful the leg kick was.
Fucking love watching this dude
Barboza real dangerous man
He's like a street fighter 2 character
This man is violence.
Damn those kicks....jesus. anywhere he throws it.
This guy a sniper So crazy
