  • There are two types of professionals; those who perform poorly when angry, and those who perform better when angry. An old poolhall trick is to figure out which one you are up against and proceed accordingly. We know from the Ben Askren fight that Masvidal turns on full battle mode when angry. But when he fought Usman, Usman never really angered the tiger and Masvidal's performance seems somehow unmotivated. It's safe to say his straight face coldness at the faceoff seems to indicate he is in full warrior mode. Probably not the best corcumstance for Colby, but with Colby's character there was little other direction that this could hsve played out. Good luck to both men, may you find what you need inside yourselves, win or lose. "Protect yourself at all times!"-Big John

  • RDA is in such good shape. It's crazy. Bryce is such a genuine guy that even draws me in when I'm more of a striking fan then grappling styles but he wins me over. Same as Chimaev's ground game is interesting to me where others are mostly boring. I respect ground game and all aspects of MMA I just love striking and if the fighters can make the fight exciting even with ground game in it then hell ya I love it. I'm only saying what I did because of the fights that have been lame let downs of a competition due to unexciting inactive, not doing damage, ground game work. But those who can do it right, I love it. MMA at it's core, done right, is amazing.

Masvidal, smirk, and almost burst out in laughter, either deep down, there's still a glimmer and fragment of that friendship floating around, or they're playing everyone.
