People seriously underestimated Bruno Silva. Bruno Silva is a KO/TKO artist who is on a winning streak (look at his record). Alex Pereira is an elite kickboxer who performed phenomenally. His grappling has improved and hopefully getting better.
That's sounds joe Rogan comment
He had 26 mma fights going into this he should’ve won Alex had just 5 fights going into this
@@user-jz7wq4to2f but what is alex kickboxing record?
Yeah I thought for sure this would be his 1st ko/tko loss but no he did really good. Alex almost got him in the 3rd though

Man people hating on Alex Pereira for not finishing bruno silva as if he is some guy with 12-10 record. Silva was former m1 global champion & on a 7 fight tko win streaks. Bruno silva is elite himself and will cause major problem in the division in future. Pereira scored a good win over a very tough guy.
Alex is only powerful with timing and precision.
In his second MMA fight, he had to land many punches to an opponent against the cage to lay him down. Even then, he wasn't knocked out.
I think it's more the fact he's talking so much and delivering little. But like everyone say Bruno is not a bum fighter he is good fighter.
Its called hype for a reason
I want to see Silva vs Muniz at some point but Muniz might climb to the time too fast
I'm still on the Alex Pereira hype train after this fight. Couldn't get the finish but Bruno is tougher than people think.
Don't talk about it as "hype train" please...
Silva won 17 of his last 18 fights and was on a 7-fight win streak (all by knockout).
Amazing fight. Perfect matchmaking. Just Give Alex a title shot...truth is I’d be hyped to see it even though it’s ridiculous. I think the styles would be incredible to see in MMA. RipKimboSlice
We can all agree he has a nasty left hook. I was looking for it all fight and I think it was the one that wobbled Silva. He won the fight regardless but he did look a bit flat
@@abyss5883 I dont think so. He was respectfull, cautious (tough opponent) and wanted to fight some more, as he said at the press conference.
Pereira is so calm in there it is crazy to watch.
I love seeing these great kickboxers coming into the UFC and kicking ass.
I love it too, this guy looks like hes got great momentum. Just called out cannonier which i hope materializes. On a less positive note, when kickboxers make the switch to mma i always get flashbacks of gokhan saki lmao
Same here man. I really do love striking.

@@Rafa_the_Rasta it was unlucky and he was too old to start but it was great to see him in octagon
This guy is a world class kickboxer. The Adessanya connection/ko is a great storyline for the UFC. Hope this guy gets there. Pretty badass.
He should have moved into MMA (even if not at the UFC) around the same time Izzy made the transition. Entering the UFC at 33... very questionable he'd ever make Top 10, big and strong and good as he is. There's no time left for him. At his rate, the next 3-4 fights of his must all be big wins --- possible, not likely --- if he wants a chance at Izzy again.
@@kiabtoomlauj6249 good point. He came too late. I think a powerful wrestler will give him issues. Curious how he'll handle the top 10

Considering he was 4-1 in MMA with relatively low competition so far, that is a huge win for Pereira, and alot of good experience too.
Lmao he lost this fight. At the very least it was a very close decision. Couldn't finish a guy that's a can crusher. And I don't care about his m1 titles. This is the UFC. Alex gets smashed by any top 5 middleweight with good wrestling.

He was KO’d on TUF by Vitor Miranda
NOTE: In the post-fight interview, Alex said he had to adjust his strategy (create openings with kicks to connect his hook) as he probably broke one of his toes while kicking Bruno in the first round. As a result, he had to rely more on the power of his hands and stopped kicking, even so he managed to stun Bruno in the following rounds, but he had to remain calm in those moments instead of rushing a ko because he knew that Bruno was very dangerous even while stunned (had won his previous fight under these circumstances)
That makes sense, people acting like he couldn't KO Bruno, but now I see, I KNEW IT, I knew he was trying something different.
Silva is a tough cookie. Very happy that Alex Pereira won since i was looking forward to him the most. But for an elite kickboxer, he gets hit a lot. Also the gas tank looked questionable. But the grappling & tdd is definitely improving which is great sign.

@Cookie monster Not same but similar
@Cookie monster yeah izzy got wrestlefucked way harder
Bruno Silva could beat a lot of ranked fighters too
And also, Bruno Silva isn't a bum
Silva just made perera look average af lol. I have a feeling hes gonna get exposed again like the qottoni fight.
Man this guy looks strong as hell, he definitely in the top 10 in the middleweight division.
I’ve followed Alex for years. He seemed flat today. I feel if he brought this version to Izzy he would lose tho.. His climb to the top is gonna be rough but I’m all here for it. I wanna see the guy on top. He’s a legend
I think he is still getting used to cage & 4 ounce gloves. We have to remember he fought all his life in ring with boxing gloves. The feeling of cage & mma gloves are entitely different which could effect your striking. Also he has picked it up late. A younger fighter adapts quicker. Pretty sure he will only get better with glover around him.
Huge pereira fan and I agree 100%. there's was also a few times he rocked silva and just let him off the hook, very unlike Alex pereira. But it's nice he got 15 mins of experience hopefully it pays off
your downplaying bruno silva he is a ko artist and has a good record
He´s slow as fuck, and drop his hand after every combination. He´s not used to mma yet. If he fight like this against Izzy, he would get fucking humilliated.
Silva is really good too, don't forget that. Silva showed a great chin and didn't give Alex many openings
People that talk about Vetorri and Holland don't remember he's training everyday with Glover that is heavier, stronger, more skilled in BJJ being a 2nd degree black belt and also the champion of the above category (also remembering that Glover is the guy that defeated Jan, and Jan is the guy that defeated prime Adesanya), if you think Vetorri or Holland will surprise him, they will not. I'm not saying they can't win, but they won't find him unprepared because Glover is a tougher challenge than both of them.
15 minutes of octogon time for Alex Pereira could be crucial for his future. Not his best performance, but those 15 minutes of experience is invaluable.
Silva aint easy walk though he'll rise up to the ranks and be top 10 soon. Pin this comment.
Why invaluable? The longer the fight, the more you have to look back and learn from, correct?

Good win for Pereira. As others mentioned his gas tank was questionable near the end, especially after rocking Silva but then choosing to clinch and relax. It was horrible actually. I'm Brazilian and they can never get one good translator, it's embarrassing. This translator messed up almost every answer/question.
