  • Chael had a great live stream reaction after the fight last night on his channel. This wasn’t Ngannou vs Gane. This was Ngannou vs Dana White. It was clear that Dana believed he found the 1 guy outside of Jon Jones who could take the HW strap from Francis in Ciryl Gane. Gane was subsequently rushed through the ranks being given easy wins to cultivate his 10-0 resume to fast track him to the title match against Francis. Dana was putting all his eggs in Gane’s basket hoping he would get the win so he could have the leverage in contract negotiations with Francis moving forward. It clearly backfired on him in a big way, and he didn’t even bother to place the strap on Francis in the octagon after he won, nor did he even show up for the post PPV presser, which is unheard of for Dana White…. 🤣

  • Very glad that Francis won. He had to endure a lot of unfairness in the last 10+ months since winning the belt. - Creating an interim belt within a few months of him becoming champion - Former coach talking trash and releasing private sparring footage - UFC likely staging the backstage encounter when Francis walked past Gane and media making a big deal out of it - Media portraying Francis and Gane as longtime training partners and formerly close friends to hype the fight - The French reporter trying to put words in his mouth, claiming he said Gane would be a "pretty easy" fight - Who knows what kind of issues are going on behind the scenes with his contract dispute - Dana doesn’t even wrap the belt around him And all the while Francis barely ever talked bad about anyone in response, having learned his lesson from his overconfidence from the first Stipe fight. It'll be interesting to see how things play out for Francis from this point, he has so much more leverage on his side now.

    • And smart of him to get ahead of it with this fight, knowing if he stays with ufc that a stipe trilogy and a Jones fight is looming. This just proved to himself that he can roll and gave both stipe and Jones something else to look at when stepping in the cage with him. Not only will it make them more weary to shoot on him but it opens up more opportunities for his power shots too. Boss ass move in my opinion. Plus the added pleasure of knowing you just out pointed the guy everyone said would point him to death 😅🤣
