The Hooker vs. Poirier fight was undoubtedly my favorite fight in years. So much back and forth, not knowing who was going to win the rounds. Dan Hooker got my respect that night. Top 5 fight of all time for me

The sounds in the Apex when Dan and Dustin are smashing each other’s faces is amazing. That fight was crazy. Dan decided to brawl, it was his path to victory, but Dustin was game.
Dude is seriously a warrior, made 0 excuses for the recent loss even though it was very short notice. Although I think taking that fight on short notice was a mistake and if he had a full camp the result would’ve been different you cannot argue with the grit of this man.
I think Islam still beats him in full training camp but yeah it would be more competitive. he took with Islam in short notice so that's definitely some BMF shit right there.

I've been championing for Dan Hooker to get the Conor Mcgregor "return fight" for a while. For all he did for the company during the height of the Pandemic... Dudes an absolute warrior and deserves the payday.

That was one of the first fights I watched in the beginning of the pandemic, where there was fuckall going on in the world in general. the first two rounds was amazing, after that Poirier recovered from all that damage while Hooker didn't recover and started fading.

That fight with Poirier absolutely terrified me at the time; I don't know how both of those men avoided extended hospital stays after that one. Hooker was definitely affected by it but now seems back to form and knows he needs to fight smarter and avoid more of those bang-out fights.
