He was only meant to defend charles jiu jitsu and get up but once he realised how good oliveria was (better than he fought), he was too scared too even defend and charles sensed that, so he went back to grappling straight away and got the finish. I knew dustin was gonna lose, when in the second rd when he hugged onto charles for dear life on the ground, looked like he was drowing in the middle of the ocean lool. Instead of trying to get up and go back to striking. Pretty obvious all charles had to do at that point was put him back in that position again.

Justin has literal nukes in his hands, not to mention the wrestling and takedown defence Gaethje has, which would make it pretty hard for Charles to submit him. Conversely, if I lose, what's attached emotionally to that. What does a loss in a title bout mean to me, internally? What does it say to me and about me etc etc? It's all wrapped-up in Ego, that's how I got over some significant sports setbacks. I suctioned-out only the good. (Besides, in a lot of people's heads Dustin was ALREADY the belt holder, i.e. the World's best Lightweight.) ...Look at how far The Diamond has come since he started.
