One of the saddest things about brain damage in combat sports is that when you get to know some fighters on a more personal level you realize there are a lot of them who are actually very smart guys. There is brain damage in every combat sport. All of them. With this sport you get max 3 slaps a day. Most combat sports they get hit on their head for at least 10 times. Matches are also longer. The outrage you have over slap power is the same outrage people had over MMA UFC.

I don’t think this ends well for Dana. My instincts tell me this causes more long term damage than boxing or MMA potentially. You are taking every hit without any defence. This episode is just so wholesome. Apart from all the mixed reactions from this new sport, i think what's amazing to see is that most guys here do it for their family. It's a bunch of guys who had gone through some tough shit, and took this chance to redeem themselves. It's so heartwarming to see them talking about their lives, and even opening up to one another which i doubt its easy to talk about these things when you gotta look tough on the outside.
getting paid 2k to show and 2k to win is really gonna put their families in a good place. The guy who just wants to be a stay at home dad is gonna be a vegetable by the time their kid is a teenager if they keep up this slap fighting.
I find it depressing. They live in a rich country and they have to risk CTE for a couple bands. It almost feels like exploitation. I am not sure they are aware of the risks.

A tip for Dana White and this sport in general, remove the damn unfair coin toss and implement something else. For example the fighters get to hit a slap messuring bag and the one getting the highest number gets to start or something. Having so much haniging on a cointoss is just weird in a serious sporting competition.

The first episode was kinda brutal because they didn't have a lot teaching about how to do the thing... It was almost like dudes throwing punches at each other. When you see guys like Darius and wolverine competing, you see that it's not that brutal... They went 20 rounds + one time.
