  • Tony vs Pettis is seriously an insane matchup. Very similar styles. Both creative strikers, and also very good submission artists. I give it to Tony though, I think Pettis is still finding his groove and this is too big a step for him, but you never know.

Still super excited for this Saturday. Really hope Tony stays healthy. Crazy that he blew out his leg and had major surgery less than 6 months ago. Feels like he’s rushing back.     • Moe Ghouti I broke my foot at the same time as him - no surgery needed - and still couldn't go 100% in the gym, let alone the cage. Sure he has a full coaching team etc... But that can only speed up the healing process so much. I think he is back too soon

    • From what I've seen, he's very dedicated to rehab. As a physio though, i'l tell you that rehab for a torn MCL > LCL > ACL, as far as how "easy"/quick it is. A completely torn LCL isn't easy, but poses less challenges and time than a full ACL tears. Still impressive though.

It could still bother him a lot, its an awful fast recovery for a ACL tear, so its fishy. 6 months is a very short recovery time for that kind of injury, 9 months is more reasonable. He's risking a lot coming back so soon. 110% if Tony didnt have that knee problem, he'd roll through Pettis easily.

    • Those are basic moves that anyone with some practice can land during sparring. It's an entirely different scenario landing them in a real fight. Literally would take you a few days if you wanted to learn. It's easy to throw random combinations and make it look cool if you know your sparring partner will just stand there and take it.

  • The Ferguson x Pettis fight is just as exciting for me as the main event. I want Tony to win because the dude has been putting in the work and I want to see him against Khabib or McGregor. On the other hand, if Pettis can get a good win and fight for the title again (and win) and rise from the fall, that would be an awesome comeback story too.
