Damn people found this fight boring? That last round was crazy. Yana ripped Ketlen's fucking face open and made her brow swell up like a balloon with like 10 seconds of control. For a car crash of a card it was a good night of fights.
The feathweight fight was boring he was winning on the feet but still chose to go to the ground and struggled to do damage bad fight IQ.

@@KrikZ32 Yes exactly what an idiot he could have finished him but chose to grapple with him, inspite knowing he didn't do any damage in the previous round trying to secure a position.
Normally I side with the person on top but Yana did so much damage from the bottom. She was even landing punches when she was in a rear naked choke. Yana is extremely skilled but I'd like to see her work on her distance control. One huge difference between her and Valentina is Valentina's kicks never lead to getting taken down.
I feel if Jennifer maia improves her ground game abit more than she has a shot against valentina, other than her no one is strong or legit to beat valentina in that weight class.

She struggles with having her back on the cage, basically you have to usman her from rounds 1-3 and she will start to burn out. But will any female fighter have that kind of iq or strength? Prolly not for a while.

I thought the judges would blow it and give Vieira the win by having more top control even though Yana was more active from the bottom position. I have to say, good job by the judges on this one.
yep .. thought so ..I was surprised by Bisping and others thinking Vieira could get 3th round .. it was pretty clear who did more damage, more strikes and who didnt had any sub attempt really locked down ..
The fight was pretty good. She was striking effectively from her back. If she hadnt been as significant with elbows then i would be disappointed with decision

I thought Jorge's offense was pretty muted during the grappling exchanges in that fight. He always had good defensive grappling (also seen in the Maia fight) but I find he goes in to full defense mode a lot of the time so even though he's safe, he's still losing.
Usman is good. But he look damn scared during the striking exchanges and he needed to get a hold of Jorge. And I'm not a Jorge fan. Lols

It's always refreshing to hear a fighter who is candid and genuine about how they think things really went down, and is willing to give an honest assessment... in this case expressing that, yes, she did have confidence in her own performance in this fight, but that she wasn't absolutely sure that she'd convinced the judges, so in the end she was glad she did... Respect.
Yana was very impressive. Came from behind with determination and grit, then won her fight, no doubt.

Too often early in their careers fighters see it like they are firstly athletes then fighters n its like NO... You are paid to fight, not be athletic. This is first and foremost an entertainment business, then a sport. Those RANKINGS are completely arbitrary because they don't guarantee anything regarding matchups, so I get concerned when I see young up n coming fighters like this chica make comments about higher up in the rankings... might as well have said "whoever they randomly choose that accepts the fight" Burns was 4 and just fought for the title... what does that tell you about rankings? The only thing ppl are going to remember about these fighters for often like 3 months is what they say in the minute long interview after a win... gotta have something prepared!

When the fight was over, I was hoping it would go Kunitskaya's way but i was worried the judges would put too much weight on just holding on to someone. But the judges did i good job. Yuna did more damage and was more of a threat when she had her back taken then Vieira ever managed with full mount and/or taking the back.

Legit not trying to hate on fighters because again they have the ability to get in there and the discipline to do it but holy shit Yana is the most boring ass fighter ever to breathe. Her whole strategy is to hold someone against the cage and do nothing and when she gets taken down all she did was try and retain half guard. No escapes no submission attempts. Just sit in half guard and throw ineffective strikes. Like for real I was so irritated watching her last fight and this one. Geez she is boring
she was trying to escape she was just going against someone with legit jiu jitsu. If you try and just stand up against someone like that you pretty much always give up position. Her ground defense was honestly good, she totally neutralized any threat from maia and landed ground and pound any chance she got.
