Everybody crying about the 10-8, but no one mentions the fact that those terrible judges gave Valentina the 4th round, where she was slammed on the mat, Alexa took her back and almost submitted her again, and also multiple clean knees to the head from the headlock position. Grasso won round 2, 4 and 5, clear as day. But whatever, the trilogy is still gonna be interesting!
Grasso repeatedly hit the back of the head, including with some of those knees and never got reprimanded for it.

I swear i had either side winning due to some arguments but, shit i never expected a draw. Either way is was an incredible fight
Obviously I don’t like the 10-8 decision but I’d say that having the fight end in a split draw was the right decision. How I scored it was Grasso winning rounds 2 and 5, Val winning rounds 1 and 3 and in my opinion I’d have neither woman win round 4 only because it was a really close round and also both ladies did score takedowns on each other during the 4th round so I have to take that into consideration. Regardless of how we feel about the outcome we have to appreciate these two ladies for giving us one hell of a fight and I hope next year they can run it back for the trilogy fight.

They Robbed Alexa Grasso. It was close but i had it edge out to Alexa. Especially now in the ufc since Take downs don’t mean anything. They made jan loss against AP for Takedowns so Shev should also be held in the same criteria

2,4,5 Grasso 2nd: Dropped Shevchenko. 4th: Knee'd Shevchenko multiple times to the head (all legal and thus count). Had the most damaging strikes of the round. 5th: Continuous ground and pound with Shevchenko flattened out and two close submission attempts. You can't argue this. Grasso won by the new rules, which state that damage and attempts on finishing the fight trump all. Shevchenko got lucky and still has the nerve to complain about the result.

I think the decision was fair. Eventhough some said Valentina won a point but I don't think she did enough in that fight. Grasso won the title from her decisively. She should have won it without a doubt as well. This time it wasn't enough. Grasso is still the champ. People talk about the 5 round when Mike Bell put a 10 - 8 to Alexa. But remember if he put it in the 2nd round, no one will complain. Even the other judges who were a bit stingy in dishing out a few points.

At 35 Valentina is still at the very top of the game. Time will only favor Grasso in yet another rematch though. Valentina had both fights won before making critical errors in the championship rounds. Not counting Valentina out, Still think she can beat the rest of the roster so if Grasso drops the belt to another contender I suspect Valentina will snatch it back, as long as it happen relatively soon.
If another rematch happens Alexa will need to do more wrestling in practice Valentina had too much success with the takedowns
Fr Valentina looked great. The idea that she's 'done' or 'washed' is pure fairweather nonsense. She's still elite, but I do question whether she'll be champ again because the other contenders have only gotten better, Grasso included.

I was waiting for Valentina to throw head kicks the whole fight. Yes i understand there wasn't necessarily openings for clean connections, but the kicks alone would've been an effective weapon against a boxer like Grasso. They throw off your balance, timing, and make you hesitant to close the distance. Even in training you see Valentina launching head kicks very frequently. I feel like Valentina didn't use all of her tools here effectively out of fear and hesitation.
She did kick when Grasso was orthodox. Harder to kick when both southpaw especially head kicks

People are acting like Valentina dominated the whole fight. Valentina did not do enough to become a Champion. A draw was fair.

2 and 4th???? The 2nd Schev dominated the entire round (one of her dominant rounds) and the 4th, Grasso only one punching exhcange go for her. Schev had a takedown and jabbing her face all day
@@mugshotmarleyactually the round you described was Round 3 where Shev dominated completely. Round 2 was Grasso’s for sure. Round 4 is debatable but Shevchenko won that slightly. Grasso won 2&5 and Shev won 1, 3 & 4. One bad judge scored round 5 a 10-8 but it is a complete injustice because it was a 10-9 in reality and if scored properly Valentina just about wins the title back as she deserved to
@@mugshotmarley Grasso did enough to win the 4th. Grasso landed more punishing head shots. Valentina only cut Alexa with an elbow as the ref was pulling them off the fence. Alexa got up from most of Valentinas take downs. Valentina only maintained control after two take downs. Alexa Landed more head shots and significant head shots.
You guys remember the jon Jones vs Dominic Reyes fight? I thought Reyes won 3-2 but Jon won the last minute of the last round. If that round was a little longer Jon would have finished him. Jon got the win. Alexa would have choked Valentina out again if she didn't run out of time. The champ should have got the decision like Many other belt holders who had close fights.

grasso needs to learn how to slip and predict the those jabs better, if she can do that and close in the distance more she will win in fashion. this is a really good rivalry, they should run it back after chenko gets a win again for a another title shot

The only round that I'd score a 10-8 in favor of Grasso would be in round 2 when she soundly dropped Valentina. Not in round 5. Either way I had it 3-2 in favor of Grasso. Valentina would've won if she'd just trusted in her striking and went for broke that 5th round but she took her foot off the gas and tried to go for another takedown only to have it backfire on her. She should go back up to Bantamweight and fight for the title there. She's done enough at Flyweight anyway.

This isn't boxing. Just because she got dropped doesn't make it a 10-8. She took her down right after and controlled her for the rest of the round.

I know it feels like a draw but round by round Grasso won 2,4 and 5 easily. Yeah, there shouldn't be any 10-8 rounds but at least it gives an outcome everyone is happy with.
