Jorge has great takedown defense and even got up after getting taken down multiple times. Usman is too strong to pummel. Burns will end up just like Jorge, pressed towards the cage. He may use his explosiveness to pummel once or twice and break but I don't see it. Jorge was a tougher matchup for Usman in terms of takedown defense and his high level striking but for Burns, his bjj is the difference maker.

  • Burns has shown that he can be dropped against decent-ish strikers. can't really say the same for usman, virtually undefeated at this point. My money is on Usman for sure.

    • Burns was also outside of the weight class he's in right now. Usman is a beast, but if he doesn't sleep Gilbert, this will be a decision win for Durniho. I don't see Marty risking this on the ground, and I'm sure he knows the striking is relatively even. But what Usman has is strength. Masvidal hurt Usman, bad, even if the fight was a domination on Marty's part, Usman can get cracked.

Even though Burns is in another division I still don't see him knocking out Usman on the feet. Don't get me wrong Burns has amazing knockout power but Usman is another breed of tough IMO.

    • @@callumdryden3980 I think the relentless pressure from Khabib would be too much for Oliveira. Oliveria would gas out in the third round and give up. Remember when Oliveira tapped to strikes against Felder. Usman however would be Khabib’s biggest challenge. Usman can match Khabib’s cardio and wrestling.
