  • Jan is a class act, he treats everyone with respect, not an ounce of cockiness in that man's character. He's a very respectful and humble champion. I really appreciate the type of person he is.

  • Why is no one talking about how damn perfect Jans defence was! Izzy is talking about it right now in the post fight press conference giving him high praise for it but everyone else is ignoring it and sticking with the narrative of Jans size? Round 5 a 10-8 for Jan because he had top control for the entire second half of the round and even managed to take full mount for a good portion of it and remained active with punches from the top. Jan is basically a heavyweight easily walking around 220+lbs on fight night and Izzy is just about 205lbs here that is a big difference. If Yan was smaller he would have been another victim let's be honest, the only thing that saved him from a loss was the two takedowns apart from that Izzy was beating him.

      @JM-bx2vg@JM-bx2vg3 жыл бұрын
    • Hell the first takedown gassed Yan out so if Izzy was smart and worked on his body he may have stopped Yan before that second takedown, the second takedown was well timed, Izzy made that easier for Jan by constantly going for head kicks instead of being more tactical and going to the body, that's what secured Jan the victory. Izzy should either bulk up more (so he has a stronger takedown/get up defence) or just stay at middleweight not everyone can jump weight Izzy learned that the hard way.

I saw an interview where Khabib said he would never go up to 170 because 155 is his optimal weight class, and that if he does come back it will only be at lightweight. He knows how hard it is to make that jump. It's actually wise that he isn't taking that risk. Ik ppl think that some fighters are unbeatable, but trust me in a sport like this that's growing so fast, if anyone keeps fighting eventually they will find someone who has their number.

Also didn't Izzy choose to move up in weight? Why is the size advantage being used as an excuse when Izzy himself wanted to fight a bigger man? And if Jan had the size and power advantage wouldn't that mean that Izzy had the speed and stamina advantage? If Izzy had won you fan boys would be saying "he's too quick for the guys at 205!" But since he lost its oh "those guys are too damn big and powerful" again ignoring the fact that Izzy chose to fight the bigger man thinking he would have a speed advantage so in Izzys mind the size wasn't an advantage but a disadvantage that would allow him to pick apart Jan and moving out the way before Jan could throw strikes back. On the feet Izzy got outboxed by Jan's superior defensive blocks, he also couldn't damage Jan's legs as much as he wanted to as Jan was actually doing a better job than anyone before him checking Izzy's kicks, and then on the ground the weight difference really mattered the most, Izzy could not slide off of Jan even while being covered in slippery sweat. Jan 100% won this fight and fought the smarter game. But for the Izzy fanboys sure, perhaps in a straight kickboxing match this could have been different. • How can’t you like this guy? He’s so humble, he’s respectful and makes sure to not allow his kindness overshadow his confidence. Even when he does act cocky he’s rightful and it feels deserved and isn’t too much. Congrats Jan, I was rooting for him before the fight and he proved how brutal he was, his punches were scary and that last hammering was a showcase of what a champ is. Can’t shadow Izzy tho his striking and leg kicks were beautiful. Can’t wait to see both fight

    • I agree 100%. I hate when they beat around the bush and never answer a question. Jan seemed open honest and even called Joe out on his mistake. Some guys would let that go because Joe is much bigger these days then just a mma commentator. But Jan was on point and the interview is more impressive to me because English isn't his native tongue. I'm a fan of both but when I heard how bias the commentators were I started pulling for Jan much more than I expected.
