    • I think his last answer was a great sign of growth. He basically said he cant predict cause anything can happen and his job is to be prepared for anything. It seemed like he learned alot vs Burns, and getting chewed out by his coach at the end of the second round was something he needed. Khamzat threw away everything they trained for and just went to fight for his fans, he underrestimated Burns heavily. I know he doesnt underestimate Kamaru now so I expect a more patient Khamzat, but more technical and same tenaciousness, and thats pretty scary. I think hes gonna sell himself amazingly. However, the door for him making a huge mistake and an experienced Kamaru captilizes off of it does worry me

DDP will probably be the guy who has to wait first of the 3, around 6 to 12 months. This will be a hard pill to swallow for someone who fought 3 times in 8 months and is now benched.

    • Yea once Izzy decided he was taking an extended break, this immediately became a title eliminator. That said, in regards to Usman, my guess is that he likely knew ahead of time that not only was Izzy taking time off, but that this fight would be an eliminator. Likely was an easy sell for him once the UFC came calling for a late replacement.

      @mrsain19@mrsain196 ай бұрын
    • @@mrsain19 @Izzy and Usman are very good friends so it wouldn't surprise me if Izzy used his leverage to say Usman should get a shot at the beltif he wins as Izzy is not coming back for a long time, if at all. I find it strange that Khamzat vs Costa winner doesn't get a shot at belt but after Khamzat vs Usman is announced because of Costa's injury then suddenly the winner gets a shot at the middleweight belt with neither asking for it. Something happened behind the scenes that we are not privy to.

  • So hyped to see this fight. I used to hate Usman but seeing how humble he's become all of a sudden and how he took the fight on such short notice makes me have massive respect for him now. And he looks much better at 185, he looks very filled out, and hes so much more technical than Costa. And Chimaev is literally the grim reaper of the division, this man has displayed such a rare type of ferocity that hasn't been seen in a long time. He runs through everyone with no mercy. Seeing these 2 fight is gonna be insane

    • @@christophergallagher3845 Its true Leon humbled him after he couldn't find success in the trilogy. Sometimes when a fighter gets humbled their confidence never comes back fully. Sometimes they start to become more complacent. Sometimes they try to play a facade where they pretend their ego wasn't checked at all by the humbling. Usman is different. He took the first opportunity to go after the belt of a heavier weight class knowing he would have to wait for somebody else to beat Leon before having the opportunity to get that belt back. Taking the fight vs khamzat at 170 to push other contenders away from the title kinda like Max Holloway does was what he initially tried to do and nobody thought it was a smart idea. Now he does it at 185 as a means to get the mw belt. You have to dare to be great before you can be great
