    • No disrespect to Chandler but i had a feeling his chin is suspect. I'm not saying i predicted the fight result by any means but still. It's not because Pitbull is a FW btw. Chandler seemed lost when concussed against Brooks also. He must have those Overeem genes because he's always able to do interview afterwards. It's like their brain just shuts off for a second.

Chandler just turned 35 but the guy is in killer shape, super athletic and explosive like Yoel Romero who is 44 years old and is still competing with the best and he’s been in absolute wars!   • Chandler almost won the fight in round 1, but got too reckless and shouldn't have done ground and pound damage because Oliviera got the chance to recover, and the way Chandler escaped the submission attempts was superb... Excited to see him fight again, good man.

    • Was frustrating to see him attempting ground and pound on Oliveira near the end of the 1st round. If he would've let him back up he might have been able to finish him on the feet. Poor decision by Chandler.

  • Mad respect for Chandler. Despite never having fought in the UFC before, he pulled off a 10-8 round and was SOOOO close to finishing it in the first. The man's power, physique, and wrestling are just insane. Chandler turns 36 in about a week but he's clearly got some good years left in him and I have a feeling this won't be the last time he fights for the lightweight belt, no matter if it's against Oliveira or not. That all being said, congrats to the man who has waited longer than ANYONE for that belt. Oliveira's gotta be on the top of the world tonight and he earned it.

  • I been telling people that Chandler wasnt used to UFC compétition yet despite being a Bellator legend. 1 Win in the UFC and championship shot was too soon. If he wouldve won it would have been insulting to Lightweight Vétérans to be Honest. So happy for my boy Charles! People been sleeping on him. I hope we get to see him against Dustin

Chandler objectively was the superior grappler today (largely because of his explosiveness and strength), and was the better striker in the first. But Olivera got his shot and exploited it because of his superior fight IQ, imo.

And even after Dana put the media train ion him ... he still didn’t manage to pull through . Casuals is thrown around too often and a good amount of the times it comes as a projection who don’t deal in logic or reason. But I’m emotion and opinion.

  • I met Charles Oliveira and his coach in Vancouver once after a loss. He is super classy and his coach said Oliveira would be champ. So many years later, I'm happy to see he got it done and defended.

He rematched Nate, but again that was a non-title money fight. Never rematched Khabib. Chandler doesn’t deserve a rematch and nobody would expect him to get one, so what are you talking about?
