  • Max Holloways K.O. of Justin Geathje at UFC 300 was impressive theres no question about it. But they started calling it the greatest knockout in combat sports history within an hour tops. i forget who, but one of them said on a pod cast the next morning that it was unless they were suffering from a severe case of recency bias, maybe Sonnen or Bisping or Rogan but for sure one of the three. I couldn't remember immediately but i came across this in my feed today and thought instantly of the one who made that statement and YES IT WAS DEFINITELY recency bias because this is way more impressive then Max. At the buzzer like Max, and max won with a punch, a great punch but a punch we see very often. Yair Rodriguez won it with a backwards upside down elbow while backing up. I think ive only seen one other person use anything close and it was Anderson Silva knocking out Tony Frickland. But it was a way different angle, just an upward elbow from his hip to shoulder movement that kod Tony, nothing close to this. For me this is still the best ever.
