  • Hawes fought too much for the takedown even though he was winning in the stand-up in Round 1. Should have stuck to elbows and knees. Great job by Marquez in capitalizing on Hawes' recklessness in Round 2 to gain top position, solid ground and pound and a pinpoint accurate head kick the second he got off his knees.

    • The fight was probably taken on short notice first of all, and second he's got lots of time to improve his cardio, and if he does that, than he's got a bright future, he defended the choke well and has significant striking skills. I suppose people will always find SOMETHING to nitpick about though.

  • I never thought MMA would gain this much fame,and the fighters have taken it to a level un heard of,1980 I was 7 my dad had a Vietnam veteran friend who was a life long MMA guy mostly kick boxing and 4 days a week he trained me he passed away when I was 17 but I continued training even adding jujitsu in and boxing and continued all the way till I turned 35 and with all that experience I have I wouldn't even consider fighting one of these modern fighters,they have advanced the art so much it's insane
