After making his debut back in 2018, UFC middleweight Israel Adesanya climbed the standings defeating opponent after opponent until claiming the belt in 2019 after securing the win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. Adesanya hopes too once again prove he is king of the middleweight division as he faces Whittaker in a rematch bout at UFC 271 on February 12.

Yoel stood still in the centre of the cage with his guard up just begging for his legs to get blasted, same with Costa. Vettori didn’t want to engage either so you can’t really blame Izzy for using the tools that mean he can defend his belts without too much risk of taking damage in an unnecessary firefight. It takes two to have a great fight and unfortunately Israel just hasn’t came up against anyone other than Kelvin that could give him a competitive fight, hence why some of his performances are safe and smart fights.

When he carries it into the ring I can’t even enjoy watching him fight, which is such a shame as he is amazing. I compare his attitude to that of people like Anderson Silva, Mark Hunt, Fedor, Couture, GSP to take some random things samples of fighters I’ve respected in the past, basically people who didn’t act like assholes to their opponents.

But looking at how he dismantled Costa so easily made me realise there are really levels to this shit and Adesanya is really at the top of that pyramid. Also I love his entrances, he is one of the few fighters that are full entertainment packages, let's see how he does it this time, eagerly waiting for reaper vs izzy. Best of luck to both men.

Since he got the belt no one has really brought the fight and remotely tested Izzy, not even close. He KO'd Robert twice. Gastellum is the last and only person to really push Izzy. Since that battle no one has really brought it and wanted to go to war. They all kinda froze up.. and you gotta credit that to Izzy because not anyone can just do that to people? Izzy has so much skill I feel we will see further once opponents actually bring a good fight to him. It takes 2 to tango and he's not had competition that push him. He's literally coasting through some of these fights not even getting into high gear.. idk.. you either see it or you don't but Izzy really has that dog ability in him to go to the depths of a battle, a high fight IQ battle. He needs competition tho.
