  • This is what ACTUALLY being humble in defeat looks like. This is why I like and respect Izzy as a fighter and as a person. The guy believes in his abilities, but he's not a self centered jerk about it and when he loses he handles it in such a calm and respectable way.

  • All respect to Izzy he didn't have to do this he could've just ran through another middleweight for fun but he challenged himself and failed what's good is that he's taking it on the chin. Even though there was a clear weight advantage for Jan, Izzy is not blaming anyone or anything else for his loss since he chose that. Both guys are champions.

    • Not everyone can have a perfect record like Khabib, he'll probably be the only man in this generation to do it. Even GOAT's like GSP, Mighty Mouse and Silva have losses. The only thing that matters is if they are willing to learn from those losses and become better fighters. I think Izzy will learn from this loss and comeback a better fighter, plus he'll hold that Middleweight belt for the foreseeable future.

    • I don't think Izzy would win a rematch tbh. Jan had his number and Izzy winning would require for him to change his style drastically. Jan outstruck him early with the jab and Jan's defense was impeccbale(whenever he bit on feints he bit backward, and he checked every leg kick and parried a bunch of punches). Jan's power didn't really play a role and I think even if they were the same weight Jan would have won. Keep in mind Jan fatigued earlier due to his greater size and then incorporated grappling in the later rounds(right after the one round Izzy won, Jan's output slowed considerably in the 3rd)

  • Being a normal sized middleweight went up to lhw and took on the champion and did very well. Respect all the way. There are many champions who almost die making their weight class but don't have the courage to move up a weight class and fight. He will be back. Still the middleweight king.
