  • This is unreal I remember fighting Ian at a judo Dan grading about 5 years ago in Dublin. Fella whooped my ass😂😂 you could tell he was a natural fighter but very respectable and friendly outside the mat. Wish him all the best 👊🏼

    • @@kingk7884 did you not see him grapple with jack grant?😂he outgrappled him,Ian’s also a judo black belt his grappling is underrated just because he doesn’t use it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it,plus now he’s at sandford MMA best believe he’s working hard on his grappling, jack grant is a top level submission specialist and couldn’t do anything to Ian,if anything Ian was more dangerous on the ground in that fight,and Ian looked like he could fight 5 more rounds at after finishing 25 mins

  • tbh, i didnt know Ian that well. I knew his opponent, Jordan more. Which made me want to cheer for Jordan. After watching this, it changed my whole opinion. UFC needs to do more of these, it builds a personal relationship with the fighter and gives you more of a look into the fighter than just their interviews before and after fights. I really enjoyed this.

  • I don't want to be a buzz kill, but making into the UFC is just the first step. I've seen so many young fighters get a contract and just disappear, then become broke and bitter. I wish him the best, I just hope he measures his expectations.

    • things have kind of changed in regards to people showing up without being vetted. almost everyone debuting in the UFC now, has to be on a 6 fight streak or they don't get in. There are clearly people brought in to lose a fight, like the poor kid they threw to sugar shane(which should absolutely not be happening) , but the kids getting multifight deals, have to prove they belong there. 1 loss can keep you out of the bigshow after going on a 5 fight run

    • Paddy played it well, turned them down twice because he said he wasn't ready. He didn't want to come in too soon and get beaten then disappear. Then cage warriors paid him a mega contract to stay the second time around

    • Decent doesn’t cut it though if he wants to be welterweight champion. The division is wrestling/grappling heavy with Usman, Covington, Khamzat, etc. having a lifetime of wrestling experience. Even Burns, who has world class BJJ, couldn’t handle with Usman’s grappling.

    • @@Saul1913 their statement said his fiancee became his manager and things went downhill from there. It says he was putting himself before other fighters, wanting special treatment, also apparently there were safety issues and that he put other fighters at risk and they let him go because he had become uncoachable. So yes, it was pay, but also apparently the kid had a very big ego and acted above everyone. That being said, well, yeah. He was above everyone, he was fighting for a championship. There's a 30 minute documentary on the kid and it shows his side of the story and actually shows he's not such a bad kid from what I can see.
